Hello everybody, welcome to new people, and congratulations to Winning Angel for your first ever post :T

OK I checked my receipts and my estimate from last night was 57p out, no current spend total is £47.43 (sig updated accordingly). Think I have probably under-estimated my spends on food, but we will see how we go. Got lots of things to eat in the freezer so should be do-able.

Hoping for a NSD but probably will have to buy milk, so will be a very low spend day.

Thanks to all those who run this thread. Mrs M - can Long tall sally be put down for her usual £450 for feb please. Have already spent a worrying amount of £185.57 so that's not good! Will have to hope that the fact that Feb is a short month might help although thinking about it as my month runs from the 26th to the 26th, that would actually have more impact for March!

If you don't mind me asking how many does your budget feed? & does it include anything else like diesel etc?

Try adding some sage and onion stuffing (made up) with the sausagemeat, approx one third S&O to two thirds of sausagemeat, mix together well. My family love them that way. As this makes more, freeze (uncooked) the ones that you don't need straightaway and you'll have a stock in the freezer.

Fab tip thank you!!! :T Do biscuits freeze well? and pasta? :o

    Question!

I do my budget from 20th to 19th of each month - have been doing it since 20th Jan - but would it be best to say this is the Feb budget (as there are more feb days in it) or to say it is Jan budget?

I don't want to be left behind! lol

i would count it as feb budget. my month starts on 27th when i get paid, but even with 20th the majority of your month will fall in feb. HTH. :)

£13.82 in the As*a yesterday, and £2 at £ shop. Quite a big spend for one visit, but £3.74 was on dog treats and mixer (I use mixer instead of training treats - my 2 will work for pocket fluff!), and £4.59 on loo roll. Must find this cheaper...

Bought cheese which was not on the list, but on offer (Cath City Mature/ light for £2)...
So on £15.82/60 (and it's only the 1st Feb!!)

Well our month started on 26th, I had a big internet shop from T***o which came to £77.62 and have since spent 99p on crisps in W**trose, £1.65 in Co-op on carrots and celery (could have got them cheaper but co-** is my local shop and I needed them straight away - bad planning on my part) and today spent £6.87 in L**l on milk, bread flour, bananas, potatoes, broccoli and a cucumber and £11.63 in Sa***burys on breakfast cereal, yoghurts, apples, onions, mozzerella and some cleaning liquid. My cupboards are well stocked and so is my freezer, I am in the process of meal planning until the end of the month (25th) and hopefully won't need too much more than milk, yoghurts, and fresh fruit and veg to top up what I've got. Fingers crossed! I used cash today and I tend to think more carefully about whether I really need something if I am handing over real money!

Spaghetti bolognaise from the freezer tonight so I'll be popular with the children, it's their favourite.
