:T amazing work there!!! Thank you!!

I have received my salary today but I will be doing full months, so I will see you here the 1st of February. It just makes it easier for me this way because I never get paid in the same exact day. Thanks for including my £210 target :D It will be difficult but I am looking forward to it. Good luck to all of you who have already started!

FIRSTIMER ALERT! I hope I do this right!

Never done this before, have set budget high as includes cleaning bits, nappies and dog food - currently no idea what I usually spend so it's a starting point!

    £400 for the month

Feeding me, OH, DD (2 YO) and DD's friend (twice a week breakfast, lunch and dinner for her)

Our pay cycle runs 25th to 25th so started on Tuesday.

hello! can i ask what pets your feeding? we have 5 cats... it seems we spend alot on them!

    Hi Paula

i have two dogs which are big eaters and one cat. This is the least animals that we have had in our household for years lol.

I`ve tried all sorts of different things including feeding raw but the cat hated that :D As we now only have the one cat she is more selective about her food as there`s no competition so she can be more choosy.

These days i stockpile on the offers, the tinned catfood is best value i find but as we only have one cat she gets bored before a tin is finished and she feeds it to the dogs - seriously she is so clever

I buy tins but she only gets them once or twice a week and the rest of the time she has pouches. I managed to get the sensations pouches that were on offer on Amazon a few weeks ago so i ordered 134 :D
I still have some saved from the last offer at the supermarket too.

She has a bowl of "biscuits" down permanently too which are applaws dried food mixed with go cat so its good for her teeth and this fills her up as its proper food instead of just ordinary biccies.

I`m quite lucky as she will eat felix, applaws, whiskas, hi life and feline fayre. I vary the make and flavour as much as possible so that she doesn`t get bored and by buying it as i do it works out very good value.

I don`t have much storage space so it all gets hidden in a spare room upstairs. I think i`ve enough in to keep me going until July but will still stock up on the offers.

PS i sent for this for the dogs, http://www2.sgservices.eu/eukanubapuppy/

They arn`t puppies so i just mix it in with their food but after dropping some the cat pounced on it, she loves it so she has a small amount each day in her biscuit bowl now until it runs out :D
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Hi Sunnyday, hope you don't mind - just registered for the Eukanuba freebie too as I have a 5month old pup who doesn't stop eating!

In fact gotta blow a tenner from the grocery budget tomorrow for big bag of Puppy Complete from Costco!

Thank You lovely Ladie's who run this thead:T
Can I be put down for $180 for febuary please Mrs. M.
    Good Luck to everyone.

  • Sunnyday - We tend to get tins, as with 5 of them a tin between them then dried is ideal... they get choice cat meat tins (they love this) one is allergic to felix which doesnt help, then i try to get them organic dry food, without fillers and ash etc as i SWEAR thats why my 16 year old Tom cat is shiny healthy and energetic.

(did you see the cat in the paper who turned 39 at xmas?!)

  • Hi,
I am a newbie, and am determined to cut my grocery spending, it is currently £400 pm for 2 adults and a toddler:eek:..........thought I was doing well until I came across this board!!:o

Sooo I would like to start with a realistic target this month and then cut back from there. I have been tracking all my grocery spending since May on a spreadsheet so know exactly what I've been spending!

Can you please put me down for £300 this month really hoping for £250 so will see how I do;)

    Thank you!
Not as silly as I was thanks to MSE:)
