Declaring:
£82.12/£80.00
Just over, and that's been a struggle...maybe next month!.....0 -
After lurking for the past few weeks and reading everyones posts, it has inspired me to try this challenge -if I can please??
Realistically if I could do all the shopping myself I reckon I could manage for £275 per month but if OH comes with me I'll be lucky if we make £400!! :rotfl:
So here goes compromise.... I would like to go for a budget of £350 for march please to start on 1st til 31st and see how this goes!0 -
For anyone that buys felix pouches, Mr A are selling a 48 pack for £10.
That is a good price for Felix pouches, I get them for my cats. I pay £2.50 for a box of 12, all the time, from the pet stall in the market. Worth checking out if you have a market. Never ever pay full extortionate supermarket prices for pet food.

Morning all
Behind again so I've only just seen Cutiepiebf's post asking where I got my veg box from.
I get it (£13.49) delivered from Ab*l & Cole and I did have one on Friday on a whim. Most of it (cabbage, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, courgettes, carrots and parsnips) I can use up without too much mental strain this week but I am wondering what to do with a kohlrabi?
I'll only buy the odd one now because as OH always points out I could buy it cheaper and I always have to defend myself - I know he's right but I just like a box of veg! Sometimes it's not just about money is it? (I'm defending myself again!)
I'm over for this month, will have a tot-up in a minute and update totals. I'll declare tomorrow and see you in March on Tuesday
Katholicos, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Look after yourself.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Thanks Hippeechiq! I love that we share stuff here - it makes me so much more excited about cooking and baking, and gives me more ideas for stuff to make, so it's not just same s**t different day!
Huxley - I reckon pork is about 30mins per 500g plus 30 mins? I could be completely wrong, but I think that's what I remember! Failing that, the best option would be to cook it for a while, then insert a sharp knife into the centre and see what juices come out. If clear, prob cooked, if not then not! Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Not planning any spends today, but if I do spend, it will count as March. I'm making a list on asd@.com, and adding and taking things off daily until I think it's a sensible list!
Have a good day all,
