Last fiver spent at aldi - mainly on stuff for ds's food tech grrrr. Recipes so far this year have been fajitas and lemon cheesecake - If I didn't shopped around the fajita stuff would have easily cost me a fiver - more than I spend on a family meal for ds to scoff them all in class!!

£23.51 spent in Mr M's today, plus £6.31 to add for washing powder that I bought from Mr A's a while back, but have only just started using, so didn't add it in the month it was bought. This should be my last grocery spend of the month, as not planning on going anywhere tomorrow and working all day Monday, but I'll wait until Monday or Tuesday to declare just in case, lol!

Afternoon all, Apologies as i have been neglecting MSE for a while, i have been reading a lot but not posting. :o
I have been trying to update spends as we go along, but have found it hard to remember to actually update it.
    So must do better!
Not sure how things are going to pan out over the year as we will be moving home soon, so going to try and run down stocks/supplies and use what we have, only buying essentials and then when we get settled start to stock up again.

Saying that I have popped to Mr T and Mr A over the last few days spent just over £100:eek:
For anyone that buys felix pouches, Mr A are selling a 48 pack for £10.

Will try and keep up to date with thread......:)

    Declaring £134.73/£135 budget for Feb & 14 NSD'S

Can i be put down for £95 for March please
though this may change dh has had a family emergency so he is not here at the moment and i dont know how long he will be away..so have done the budget just for me and ds, if he comes back i will add £11.25 to my budget for every week that he is home, the budget starts today till the 31st March a long month for me but i wanted to use a £7 off a £50 spend @ MrT that ends tomorrow, so out of my budget i have spent £42.37..the majority of the rest will be spent at the local turkish shop im going to get a huge bag of basmati rice, prices are so cheap compared to tescos £3.99 for 1kg so depending what size bag i get i will be spending at least £10 on rice but it should last a while, hopefully i have budgeted correctly this is my first GC with dh not here..will see how it goes

Declaring at £61.09 for February :j

Going for £60 for March please.
  • Oh dear. I am well over, fo Feb, £68 to be precise! Maybe £150 was too ambitious for 3 adults and 2 cats. Did include an AF order, but even so.... Right, next month, being realistic, going for £180 and will try to be more careful!
  • Hi Everyone
Well two months into the challenge, and I have spent three months grocery money Declaring at £596.87 I know I have stocked up on lots, and it will eventually even itself out, but that is still a scary amount of money. So for March, although I'm on an annual budget I am going to try not to spend more than £65. this should be do-able, I have menu planned, and just need the usual bread, milk, friut n veg.

Have a good week everyone x

Picked mum up and her wee doggies, and brought them over ours for the evening. Dug soup out of the freezer and with some nice homemade bread it sufficed for an evening meal :-)
    Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

    NSD Challenge: October 0/14
  • Can't remember who asked, but the cheese biscuits were the ones from the recipes at the front - they went down really well at the party today, and I think will be a firm favourite in the lunchboxes from now on! It said to use 40-80g of grated cheese. I used 50g, as that seemed like a more round number. (OCD!!) I did them in heart shapes, and they worked really well.

Didn't spend any money today, mainly because I've been in all day with the party, but everyone seemed to enjoy it, and the party bags went down well. I refused to waste my money on the normal tat you get in a party bag that clutters up people's houses for a few days then gets chucked, so I made up some bags of sweets (bought from asd@, although I may make my own next time!), and wrapped them in cellophane with the curly ribbon you wrap presents with. Lots of positive comments about that, and it cost me a lot less! DS birthday not til October, but I'm going to be trialling lots of sweet recipes from now on, to find some good ones for then. Any ideas anyone?!

    Night all,
