  • Maybe I missed the intentioned sarcasm, but the channels you've listed are all subscription channels, except Dave which is available on Freeview, but not Freesat.

Sky Altantic will only be on Sky for the time being.

The implication in some earlier posts was that they were, by cancelling the standard package you would get them on freesat. It is clarification that they are not
  • Good call !

Don't forget that even though you have to give Sky a months notice, just get the suvscription changed to the minimum they can do, pull all and every channel that might add to this. I seem to recall this issue some years back and when I called back, Sky dropped the final month to something like £10.

Spot on, there is no comparison between freesat and the £24.50 Sky package, its a bit like saying "I'm tired of all the expenses of running a car so I'm going to get a handcart instead".
They've both got wheels but thats where the similarity ends.

But in this case at least the handcart is free, whereas the car is £294 p.a...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

But if you had to travel a hundred miles a day which would you choose?

The free third rate option, or pay a bit more and have a better experience?

There I would disagree. A different experience maybe, but not one worth the sub to Sky. Still, if you want to pay for Sky, fine. I'm happy (and richer) with freesat

Surely the valid comparison is between Freesat and Freesat from Sky, not between Freesat and Sky basic subscription channels?

Probably true, but the comparison by the OP was that freesat was comparable to the £24.50 Sky offering.

Just trying to show his flawed logic.

And if you are a sports nut like me,the choice of programmes on Freesat is non existent unfortunately!!:(
My dad pays £3 a month and gets excellent streams online, he's got it hooked up on to his TV & we can watch all games even the 3pm ones in decent quality so Murdoch can shove it up his backside :D

So you get Sky1, Sky2, Living, universal, syfy, FX, alibi, Dave, nat geo, Discovery, History and around 12 childrens channels on the freesat box now?

I'll have to look into it, I would hate to be paying Sky £24.50 for them now they are free on freesat!

Is the new Sky Atlantic channel also starting on freesat on the 1st?

Like I said, look at the post I replied to. The poster said, and I quote,

Well my Humax box does exactly what I responded to via the original quote. It RECORDS, REWINDS, SLOWMOS, SERIES LINKS and gives me 100s of channels of rubbish"

So please tell me where did I say I could get the Sky channels????
