    Just wanted to drop by and say well done on going for the job, I read your thread with interest.

    I know it's stressful now but 2 years down the line you will be laughing. Hope that you are getting a nice increase in pay!!

    P.S. Who on earth pays in advance!
  • What about a months advance pay from new people paid back over 6 months ... I have known companies that do that if they big
    In London, you're never more than 20 feet away from someone telling you you're never more than 20 feet from a rat .
  • Im in too much debt to add another load!! I am starting a new job with a new slate and I dont want them to think I am needy - well just yet!!! I am very independent and like to think that I can manage my stuff on my own and you are right though - the bigger the company sometimes they will help. NOt however the one that I am leaving - its the biggest shop on the high street but has a very very tight procedure on leavers.

    Thank you for your post though - much appreciated....

    This is supposed to be the "Debt Free Wannabe" board, not the "Oh yes please, I'd love to be in even more debt that I cannot pay back thanks to the eye-watering, 2600% interest rate on my payday loan" board.

    Get a grip! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    There is always one isnt there.....tell me something - is that what a troll is....? Because I felt so trollied after that post. I didnt want to seem rude but it made my blood boil to read what it said. Maybe I shouldnt have said shut up....:(

    Thanks though for your post - all was as it should be after I read yours!! x x

    Hello! IIRC today was your last day in your old job - how are you?
  • Hi! Thanks for the post. I had a good day yesterday. I did do some work but I was selective and I tailed off at lunchtime!!!! Nobody batted an eyelid...
    I didnt cry either! It was such a sense of relief that I dont have to fight those battles anymore (internal and petty but destructive to ones peace of mind). I am under no illusion though that where I am going will give me more of the same (you know, women working together, peer pressure, pecking order that sort of thing) but I am going in with my eyes wide open! I am still looking forward and I dont feel in any way regretful..

    I got some lovely pressies and cards too which was really nice. Today my daughter is home so we are going to go for lunch somewhere and chill!!!

    New life starting - god how exciting is that!..

    Your thread was such an interesting reading! It's really nice to see you've been able to make the most of this great opportunity with the support of fellow MSE-ers; support from people with a wide variety of experiences and knowledge have made this site invaluable to me. It's these people are that bring me back almost daily.

    I hope you enjoy your new job, and let us know if you do start a diary, I'd love to drop by occasionally. Good luck and best wishes.
