I sold a new dolls house, never even been opened on Ebay. Seller has been very pushy and was chasing up delivery Monday and she only paid Sunday. Anyway it was delivered 11.21 am today and by 12.30 she messaged me informing me parts were missing. I thought fair enough manufacturing error as it was 2 screws and a wooden pin.
Now shes saing the dolls house has scribbles all over it with colouring pencils. My daughter doesnt have any and even if she did shes not been near the box as it was stored in a spare room.
Looking at the seller she is selling a dolls house claiming her daughter had 2 for christmas so doesnt need one. Granted its not the one I sold her for sale but before seeing this I suspected she was swapping the house I sold with one her daughter had ruined. this listing confirms my suspicions. She listed her dolls house 3 hours after she bought mine.
What can I do as paypal will probably side with her?

Did you inspect the dolls house before you listed it? Do you know for certain that there is no way it had any pencil scribbles on it what so ever? If you have absolute certainty on this, I would not budge an inch with the buyer. I would only do what Paypal forces me to do, nothing more at all. If she bought more than one, perhaps yours is not the one she has a problem with, ask her to check the sender details of the package as you are completely certain yours was unmarked when sent. On the other hand if you purchased it from eBay yourself maybe, and didn't open the box to check it, she may be telling the truth. If you agree to take it back, then only do so through Paypal, so atleast if she makes a habit of doing this, it may be flagged up in the future.
Hope it works out okay for you

ps - onot saying it is your daughters artistry skills by the way but...seriously your daughter does not own a single colouring pencil? Blimey they seem to breed under the carpets or something in our kids rooms! Haha.0 -
I am absolute certain it came direct to us from ELC as mil ordered it here for dd. It was still manufacturer sealed as DD got one off her other nan too and both were sealed identical.
She does not own colouring pencils only crayons and one grey writng pencil but shes never used either for drawing on things.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Shes opened a dispute and ebay have advised I accept her preference so as I suspected makes no difference if shes honest or not ebay will side with her.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

Tell her to send it back tracked, and also point out that you are expecting the same dolls house back, and not the other one she's selling. I would perhaps even mention that failure to return the dolls house in the immaculate condition it was sent in will result in court action.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I dont think shell send the house shes selling back but the 2nd house she claims her daughtr got. She said her daughter had 2 different houses so is selling one, buying mine means she has 2 again!?
I think her daughter ruined her "second" house and is swapping it for mine.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

^^ Yup, looks like it. Just let her know that you are aware of the other two doll houses, and you have a suspicion of a switch. As advised above, tell her you will take court action. If you know as a fact it was new, then yes, she is trying to scam you. (unless you got it second hand.)0 -

It's a far stretch, but do you have a pic of the actual item, or did you use a stock photo? If so, then you can prove that it was sealed by the manufacturer when you listed/sent it.0 -
I used a stock photo as I didnt want to even remove the dolls house box from the cardboard box ELC sen it in. I wanted to reuse he box to send it in and I can never fit things back in boxes once Ive removed t.
Ive informed her what I suspected and she said I have a cheek and how she doesnt have to explain herself to me .
Im so upset as DD is going to loose her xmas money nowWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

Damn, this sucks. I've been in many positions like this on ebay over the years, it's really painful and emotionally distressing. Especially if the buyer has the nerve to say you have a cheek, and try to attack you leaving you defenseless, and probbally out of pocket.
Tell her to send it back, paid for at her cost. If the dolls are hers, then you would be able to tell from the wear and tear, there must be some grounds you can stand on. (sorry, no help here.) if it where in a local area, she'd be getting a fistful from me for trying to scam me.0
