Well another spendy day! DS1 needed his shoes fixed for school as he's worn them down. Got to heel bar though, £19.99 for new sole & heels .................!!!!!!. no way. So went into te$co (heel bar in te$co anyway) and paid £16 for a brand new pair......am still in shock at how much they charge!!!!!!
Also went to Mcd's as promised ds1 he could have one before he went bk to school .........good news is a buy it now item i put on ebay last night has sold :j £14 to add to £5 a day challenge :T
It was ds1 x-box games that he doesn't play anymore. He wants a new game and i nearly folded and bought it for him but stuck to my guns and said no way, if you want it you earn the money! and he did! He has already gotten into the habit of using me as a form of credit, 'i'll borrow a fiver today and give you it bk tomorrow pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease' so no more. I need to teach him to save for what he wants before he reaches that age where credit cards will be thrown at him left-right-centre!!!:money:
Got confirmation of tenancy through today :j so £525 extra income for next 6 months :T:j will call cccs up later and do my review with them! Also need to post ebay item and pack for ds1 return to school and our mini trip to mums so busy busy!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. glad about the confirmation on tenancy and well done for teaching your children how to save. A very worthwhile lesson they will either learn now from us or be n the same situation as were in later on in life - i know whch i would choose if given the chance againMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

exactly slm, i've made all the mistakes lol surely ds1 can just look at mine and learn from them rather than repeating them himself lol!
I've just saved myself £10 by cutting ds1 hair :money:
I've also negotiated a swap of some sock monkeys for lots of new clothes for ds2 & a few for dd. He's had a huge growth spurt and none of the clothes i bought him recently fit! so 4 sock monkeys for around £40 quid worth of clothes i thought was a good deal
Have got te$co vouchers and want to double them up when i go next. Got more than i expected as well so that was £18 :T think i can add this to the make money challenge? not really sure though will double check first.
Am re-thinking changing child benefit so it comes in monthly so i have all my money at the beginning of the month to divvy up i'm £250 short on the budget because i have to wait each week now for child benefit to come in in dribs and drabs
Still need to do those blooming invoices and also send ebay parcel off! will do these today as don't want to leave till next week!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Oh wow, super embarrassed
:o:o Just been to te$co again to get petrol, and also double up my vouchers (got £70 worth of stuff for £35 vouchers and i only put £5 towards it in cash :j:money:) then at petrol station my card was declined :eek::eek: and at least 10 people were behind me
so i went to cash point....nope not working
had to get a voucher to say i will pay in 24 hours. SO embarrassing! I knew i had money in there so go home. check online bank. Not working. Great. On hold for 20 mins finally get through HSBC's systems are down... phew  I had that awful knot in my stomach and sick feeling when it was declined. I used to get that all the time
makes me very aware of how far i had come prior to this little slip up (by the bank this time not me :rotfl:) and now i have to hope they will be back up and running by tomorrow as i need cash to pay for the petrol i 'borrowed' :rotfl:

That must have been really embarrasing i feel for you - but i agree they must have realised after a few of the HSBC cards were declined.
Well done on the spend with the vouchers. I only have £9.50 to spend although they havent arrived in the post yet. I think they should go on you £5 a day total.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well I have just got back from my meditation lesson, and it was brilliant
i feel refreshed and much happier and more positive now. Long may it continue. I have 2 weeks until my next lesson as she likes you to practise what she has taught first.
This afternoon I think ds1 is off to cinema with dh. We were going to mums today, but now going tomorrow. So i'm thinking of using some entertainment budget money to treat everyone to take out later as well as the cinema costs. Think i might have a little wander round town and get into the christmas spirit whilst they watch the film, and hopefully dh will be in a better mood later too. He's been huffing round the house for weeks if not months now and nothing i say or do helps. In fact he mis-construes everything i say and twists it so i am in the wrong. It's really tiring!!! grrrrr!
Anyway onwards & upwards as they say! Have a good saturday allMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
