Hi DFW, any luck with tracking down a fridge yet? Bleurgh to bad weather...it's lovely here this morning, but who knows how long that will last?!Full LBM 26 Sept 110

well so much for sitting in
i went to a friends house then after picking DD up from nursery popped to Dunelm Mill ......I spent £40! £15.99 on a toilet seat (after dh broke our new one ) was reduced from £20. 2 light shades for the front room- £6.99 each! and a few other little bits
! Oh well. we did need the toilet seat. And dd is very impressed with the fact it closes it self :rotfl:
Checked banks all looking ok.
Received the car tax this morning, and have checked my post office budget card. I have £184 on there atm towards car tax :T this will cover 6 months already :T but i would like to get 12 months........which means i need £76 more. I can use next months towards it which is £25..so will need £51 still. If dh gets enough bonus i may use some towards this. We save £26 a year getting it for 12 months rather than 6
I haven't got any other big bills due then until July so have time to save for car insurance & MOT (due august).
I've been keeping a daily spend spreadsheet (just attached to my monthly budget spreadsheet) and can see where all my money has gone this monthso will see at the end of the month how well i am doing (or not) at keeping to all the budgets.
Can't believe it's only the 5th and i feel pretty broke already  good job all bills are paid at least :eek:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Have been through my budget AGAIN
Am trying to be a little more leniant as if savings/budget pots are too tight it just won't work...I really need to get more tenants in after this one leaves as being short by £480 a month is just NOT do-able. The budget is THAT tight already
Not quite sure if some are too high and some are too low! I think we should have lessons in school on how much % of our pay we should be putting towards savings, emergencies, house, car etc! would be very helpful!
Have also just signed up to 12 month prepayment prescription card. £10.40 a month DD for 10 months so need to add that to my spreadsheet too

I wish i had been taught things like budgets at school too. I was good with my money until i met OH, but i may have learnt a few tricks if we had had lessons!

well today WILL be my first NSD of march!!! :T (at last)
Last night i was bored, so i was looking for new curtains on t'internetdo i NEED them- NO . Did i WANT them- Ohhhhhhhh yes
......i got all the way to check out and closed the page :j I keep thinking about them, they were very nice
and cheap(ish) and would brighten up my front room. But no, i'm going to TRY and resist them!!
Bank is sitting at £23  but i do have money in my pots still so should be ok (i hope!) I paid £50 into my emergency fund yesterday so that is pending ...if i had left it in my bank account i would have spent it!
Today I am dropping DD off at nursery then returning home to clean my bedroom, the kids rooms & the living room. I've taken stew out of the freezer for dinner so that just needs re-heating later.
I'm thinking of doing a 3 day detox for the rest of the week  i'm doing my reiki level one on sat & sun so think now would be a good time to cleanse the body in preparation for it! AND i get to use my juicer that i bought waaaaaaaaaay back in January and haven't yet usedwill have a google later and see what sort of diet is recommended and let you all know
DH is away now till sun & MIL is coming fri night so she can babysit. So tues-thurs evenings are just me so i can go to bed super early to avoid snacking times
anyway have to dry my hair and drop dd off. Will have a think on it and be back later
