  • Well done on your charity shop finds, even if the linen trousers don't fit properly.

I used to do this too when I lived in the UK. Sometimes you can make quite a bit of money from them. It's very MSE don't you think. :p

I'm sorry to hear DH's grandad isn't doing too well. Sending hugs for you and DH {HUGs].

  • Thank you for your kind wishes :) dh said that his Grandad was very frail but out of bed and speaking so that's good. I saw a picture though and he's lost an awful lot of weight. The whole of his face has dropped on one side also from the stroke :( I think ds2 kept him amused though with all his running around :)

I went into town with my mum whilst dh was at the nursign home. I spent £10 on food  & £6 in poundland  & £24 in primarni .....got shoes for the kids though & sunglasses for all of us :T so works out cheaper than anywhere round here. My clothing budgt is ummmmmmmmmm EMPTY now. :o

My mum has not had a fridge since i last visited her.!!!. she didn't tell me it had broken as she didn't want me worrying. So she couldn't even offer us a cup of tea today as milk had been thrown out :( I have been looking all evening on ebay/google for a good deal on one. I have bidded for one on ebay ...well put an offer in. They want £100 but i really don't have that. It is 10 mins from mum in the car though so i have offered them £80 and asked if they could deliver for that price too (fridge is new ) :o i doubt they will say yes but you gotta try huh! Otherwise i will get her one out of my yearly savings when it has matured (end of month i think) have found a few for £100. Not brill but not bad and def better than none at all! Bless her she is just like me and had got a screwdriver to it and started taking it apart trying to work out what was wrong with it! She couldn't though so no fridge :(! Why does :(everything go wrong at the same time huh! I need a bit of luck like my mate with the tax rebate! :rotfl:

Am planning on quite a few NSD's next week lol need to catch up on them and also save some money ;)

    Tomorrow i need to :
    • do beds (didn't do other day! tut tut!)
    • make a meal planner for week.....using stuff we already have hopefully. Want a nice cheap shop next week ;)
    • Tidy up
    • do washing
    • put clothes away
    • see if i have won cheeky offer on fridge :rotfl: won't hold my breath though:rotfl:

  • Tomorrow i need to :
    • do beds (didn't do other day! tut tut!) they've been stripped, it's a start lol

    • do washing -Have a few more to do yet...2nd one on already though

Off to do the food shopping this afternoon as dh wants to go, no idea why as he's not here from Tues onwards! I've written a list though and don't need too much that is expensive (i hope!).

If we need petrol i may put a tenner in whilst we are at the shops too...have cleaned house already so once the shopping is done we can relax :T

Still have clothes to put away but they've made it upstairs at least....half way there :rotfl:

Need to check ebay but they have 48hours i think so i'm not expecting an answer straight away :)

I have a £9 off a £60 te$co shop so i think we will go there as i do need some meat for the week/month so can easily make it up. Also need some sort of scrubbing brush for carpets, the kids have ruined the carpet in the living room (beige) with squash and all sorts trodden into it! I do scrub it with carpet cleaner but it doesn't seem to get all the marks off :( hoping some bleach and a brush will do the trick :)

Hope everyone is having a good day :A

Astonish upholstry cleaner is brilliant for getting stains out out carpets, and its only about a pound from wilkos or savers. Worked brilliantly on my old houses living room carpet, so i didnt have to pay out for a new one for the landlord

Try freecycle as well for the fridges - might mean looking on one in closer area to her but even if you only get an old one that lasts a few months it then gives you and your mum a chance to find a little money for a better one :)
