Is email an acceptable medium? If so why not take up scambaiting? 419eater.com have some good examples and on their forums they have a section for people to post "spare" scam attempts for others to start baiting with.
Be sure to use a separate email address though, obviously!0 -

I ask them to confirm my details.....I tell them I know who I am and that if they know me/my business/accounts etc then they need to tell me my date of birth etc. Even when the call is "genuine" and by that I mean a legitimate company but on a sales call they cant/wont do it...I had great fun with the Halifax a few weeks ago....
halifax....good afternoon sir can I ask your name
me....you can but I wont tell you it
halifax......this is the halifax and I need to verify your details
me......is there a problem with my bank account (have a zero balance and no cards as is a dormant account)
halifax...no sir but we need to discuss some account options with you so could you confirm your name, address and date of birth
me.....no I cant, I have a policy of not diclosing this information to people I dont know,,,,its to do with fraud you know
halifax.....but sir we are the Halifax
me.....I guess that is what a fraudster would say also....perhaps you could tell me my date of birth and address
halifax....we cant do that sir
me....ok no problem then, good day to you
halifax......but we wont be able to continue with the call
me...thats fine, you called me, I didnt have any pressing need to call you
halifax....but we need to discuss something
me...is it a sales call
halifax,,,no sir
me...well can I take your name and number and will call you back
halifax....we cant take incoming calls sir this is an outbound call centre for sales
me...but you said you arnt selling something
halifax...we arnt sir, we are wanting to let you know about new products and we cant unless we verify your details
me....but I cant verify me details to a stranger when I cant verify their identity can I....I mean its just not safe. perhaps you could help me out by you telling me my details
halifax.....but we wont be able to contiune with the call
me,,,thats ok by me.....you called me
and so on for quite a while until they ended the call.......had my devils head on and had a little free time so was great fun......I strangely look forward to the next sales call0 -

From TPS website
"The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is a central opt out register whereby individuals can register their wish not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls"
All they have to say is that they're making 'Technical Support' calls, not Sales & Marketing calls, and they're off the hook.0 -

I've been also told 'we're conducting a survey', another swerve.
Has anyone ever replied 'The householder's not here, I'm just robbing it'Move along, nothing to see.0
