Washable Nappies

Thanks again for all the advice!
No offence taken at all - I'm pretty new to all this so I really thought that as I would be chucking so much stuff at the nappies and washing multiple times it didn't occur to me that the stripping process had to be started from clean ones!
So, yesterday I did pretty much what you both suggested:
 1st wash: in normal detergent
 2nd wash: in vinegar
3rd wash: with a dishwasher tab
Unfortunately there wasn't much sun left by then in the back garden and it was a bit chilly, so I dried them by a sunny window upstairs and it's really done the trick! They smell soooo much fresher!
 Thanks again!0
