Lets see if this works...it was taken when he was briefly off oxygen. He does have oxygen through nasal prongs & a tube up his nose now for feeds.

  • BBM what a lovely picture, and a surprise, such a precious little one! Congratulations.
If you wanted to you could use muslin squares & wraps instead of sposies - entirely your call there. I reckon you have enough on your plate right now. - Easy Peasy have some lovely premie nappies too.

Spaghetti Monster. - can't comment on the bio advice, my days at Nappy Lady are a while back, it was down to skin allergies and reactions more than anything else.

BG's will leak more than two parters in all cases. Like Nikki says it's down to the fit. Run your finger around the legs & waist make sure that the internal parts are tucked under the waterproofing.

I met a friend yesterday using pocket/stuffables (Ittis, Wee-notions, and another I forget which) and she had to change 3 times due leaking- I was astounded. DD2's nappies never leaks. I should say that it does often depend on baby, but like all things - function over fashion sadly.

Caelshorn. - I know a few ladies that use soapnuts - and swear by them. Just put them in as directed and away they go. I personally have no love for BumGenius so can totally understand your choice ;)

And just to make you all aware of the Onelife/ Bambino Mio sale going on this week. Good Wraps, and onelife are fab nappies in there own way...unlke the Mios - which you know I don't use or like :D
    More on that here. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3210956
Wraps are very much like MotherEase, as are their Birth to Potty one sized nappies.

Shellie am just checking - could I use the Bambino Mios instead of MotherEase velcro wraps? I intend to use prefolds - have these already in small and medium size.
For the 1st month through will use disposables whilst I get used to things...

  • Yes Sparkle you can use the Bambino Mio wraps over prefold - as Mios are prefold by design anyway. - they should state on the site when ordering that they have a gussetted leg to be doubly safe ;)- Again I say, don't buy all the sizes though as you might not get along with them.
Prefolds go through more wraps than shaped so your looking for 4 -6 of each sized wrap.
Sounds like you have a good plan there :T

Thanks Shellie, I presume it's the MioSoft ones you mean from their site at £4 each?

Do you think I should wait then until bubs is born to see what size he is? I am worried time will be limited is the only thing... I would also ideally like to get 2nd hand to save cash maybe, but tempted also to get new now just to be organised... ah, decisions, eh!

Edit > I went ahead and got 2 x medium MioSoft wraps in the star design and 1 x large in star design, £12 total and free postage. For that kind of money it's worth the risk and they look too cute to resist anyway! Thanks so much for the heads up.

You actually do not need to buy the 49.99/6 pack ones. Old white cotton T shirts will do. I mean the very basic ones. I had thought of using washable ones but I got c-section and was really weak for about 4 months after baby birth so I have to use the disposable ones as they save time and are convinient. The reason I would like to use the washable ones is that they are skin kindly but DS does not have any problem with pampers.

Congratulations OP! A very cute and lovely boy!
I went back to the first page and checked the time of this post so you surely have made your decision on the nappies now.

For Bumgenius Bargains, not my favourite nappy, ( parent pound exploitation at its best if you ask me) but easy to use and many mums like them.
(personally I am a function over fashion person when it comes to nappies - it works out so much cheaper)

Nice to know your heading the right way there sparkle. 12 quid for 3 brand new wraps is good going. - Check out your Nearest NCT second hand sales for wrap bargains there. You can find out whats near you through their website.

Thanks Shellie, I looked into NCT last month and they have a sale near me in June which is great so I will take a peek.

Annoyed as I missed our first pre natal class, doh! There were only 2 nights... So we will go to the 2nd one this Thurs eve - do I just search on Google for local classes, or do NCT do some? I didn't want to spend alot, but due to baby brain and forgetting, may have to now!
