Highs, Lows and all the bits in between.....

So I have been lurking around since 2006! Our debt has always been managable car loans, bike loans bit on the credit card etc, but recently we have remortgaged (In a good way! not to consolidate) but it has made me realise that it would be nice to clear everything in preperation for slowing the pace of life a little. I've decided retirement is SO last decade and I'll just work until I drop, I would just like the pace to slow a little.

Thats a bit about me, now for the numbers, Debt in my sig includes our mortgage so we are very fortunate, There is a car loan, house improvement loan, three cards and an interest free sofa!
We have a reasnable income I just feel that every time I knuckle down things go astray after a couple of months so this is hopefully the palce where I can witter away and keep on the straight and narrow.
The household is made up of 1DH 1DD & 1DS Plus 2 Hounds!
DD is working so cost is negative, but she is nice to have around, DS is at that age when grunting is preferable to actual talking and DH & I work together!!
SO that's me if anyone wants to join and keep me on the straight and narrow then help yourself

Funny xx

    Hi there!

I just wanted to say that I totally get the whole gym being enjoyable thing. (I lost over 2stone last year with exercise alone) I am going to have a look for a cheaper gym for myself, but as I am in the local council gym just now I might not have much luck.

You're doing great! All the best.
Can we pretend that aeroplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now...
  • Have a good look round I belong to a private gym attached to a golf club it just has workout gear but no spa stuff (apparently that;s what people want when they go to the gym!)
    Keep looking

  • So in money terms nothing too scary out of the bank and I have posted off my phone so that should see some money my way ins due course,
I have also cancelled a dd for a magazine I really don't need and have phoned Sky and they kinkdly reduced my charges by 20% and gave me a discount on the phone aswell, not as good as some on the Grabbit board but I'll take what I can for now.
House insurance has been taken out through Quidco however I have had so many expenses last month I have opted to pay it by dd for now, in the past I would have thought I'll put it on the card and pay it off next month, but something would come along and I'd end up not paying it off in full, so in the spirit of all things organised although it costs a little more I will do it month by month so that I know where I am, with a little carefull budgeting I should be able to pay in one hit next year !
SO this week I have been able to save 67.00 from my monthly outgoings BUT they have increased by 65.00 although that does include me switching to a dd for gym membership rather than it comming from the general "free" spending money, that seems to be going down at an allarming rate but at least now I can account for where more of my money goes.
Onwards and Upwards (or downwards in the case of the debt!)

  • I have found you and subscribed you seem to have made a good start.

I need to concentrate on exercise this year I did the weight last year which has made a huge difference so that I can actually contemplate exercise.

I don't think I am going to join a gym as I have tried it before and never go often enough so I am going to try couch to 5k as soon as I sort out a bra that will encase my ample assets and prevent me from doing a nasty injury to myself :)

  • Thanks for posting
    Have a good weekend

  • Hurrah 1st of the month (Although my wages go in on the 25th !) but all the dd's come out this week so
First one toady was the car, have updated sig duly but have to confess to take out last night  although it was due to working late.
I think that this may bewhere most of my random spending comes from, I seem to think I have to cook a full blown meal every time I come home, rather than perfection something quick and practical instead of a takeaway might be in order, is it really that wrong to have fishfingers or frozen kievs once a week?
Apart from that no other spending required today and am of to the gym with DS later

    Have a good one xx

Ok so first lot of dd for the month have gone out of the bank, it felt so good yesterday to be able to update my sig and snowball!
I found out yesterday that I need to pay the gym this month as my dd won't be set up in time, normally I would try to hang on as long as I could but now that I have a plan I just want to pay it off so I know where I am, feels a bit strange but in a good way.
DD car needs some repair work and she has sat down to plan when she can get it done and if she can get it cheaper elsewhere (vv proud mummy :))
Apart from that no spends, however I do need to venture to Mr T's tonight so will run through quickly with my eyes closed and I WILL just pick up the things I need

    Have a good day
