I think you are perhaps on the wrong forum. Try

    www.snobsareus.co.uk

Thats fair enough, however i don't think its snobbery to prefer to spend £3 on some basic good ingredients and make something yourself. I bet you can make something similar to this dish for the same price that will taste better and be better for you!

How do you know the food lacked quality if you didn't taste it?

It was processed, what more needs to be said? You'd be better off eating the box.

I have to agree with the OP here.
My (now ex) bf and I bought this a while ago and it tasted really odd. It wasn't horrible, just not pleasant or like any form of chinese food - ready meal or otherwise - I've ever eaten. He cooked though so I had to eat it :(
(Unless it has been improved since in which case I stand corrected ;))

    What?

So if you can cook a better meal than one you buy in a packet you are a snob?

    Weird logic!

    the quote was

'I don't eat these sort of meals because basically i'm better than this.'

implying that you're a better person than someone who does eat ready meals
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

    Damn. I misread that.

Maybe the quote was a bit snobberish however I do look down a bit on people who eat ready meals, i just think they are being lazy, and then to complain afterwards about them not tasting nice is ridiculous. I have no problem with going to any fast food restaurant when hungry however if I am in a supermarket buying food then to buy a ready meal instead of the basic ingredients to cook a good quality meal just seems ridiculous. Even just buying a chicken breast, a cooking sauce and rice which takes about 10 minutes to cook is better than one of these pre packaged microwave meals!

And the same sort of ingredients, preservatives and "E numbers" etc goes into the sauce in jars, as goes into the ready meal.

I agree, i'm not saying i buy these sauces i am just saying they are a better option than getting a microwave meal and you don't want to make the food from scratch. Personally I prefer to make everything from fresh.
