Not happy with Ken Hom's Sweet and Sour food in Tesco

Went to golf today. Forget to defrost my chicken before I went for a curry tonight.
So went in Tesco to buy a Chinese dish as an alternative. Saw Ken Hom's sweet and sour chicken on shelf priced at £3-00. Opened sleeve to look at meal to see big tomatoes, very little chicken, etc. Very disapointed until I saw Shanghai Garden Sweet and Sour Chicken with Egg Fired Rice Priced at £2-30. Loads of chicken, generous helpings and tasty.
I won't be touching Ken Hom's stuff in future. For me, it is vastly overpriced for what the food packets contain compared to it's rivals. Very disappointing and surprising.

It's like the "Antony Worrall Thompson" food mixers that you can buy,
No different to any basic mixer available in most supermarkets, but at least 25% more expensive simply because of his smililing face on the box.
"Paul Newman salad dressing? Same stuff as pumped out by dozens of factories, but because it states "Newmans own" on the label, it automatically costs far more tham a generic brand with the same ingredients.0 -
Firstly, did you really post a thread to complain about something you didn't even buy?!
Secondly, I beg to differ! Went to Tesco's today where the Ken Hom food was on offer - 2 main courses, 2 pots of egg fried rice and 4 spring rolls for £5. I bought chicken sweet & sour and chicken & mushroom as the mains. I'm veggie so I ate the spring rolls and some rice, and my boyfriend had the chicken & mushroom. Massive chunks of chicken apparently and very tasty! The spring rolls were huge (I couldn't eat all four!) and really tasty. The rice portions were also huge, could have fed 3-4 people really, and again really tasty with added garlic and ginger.
Not sure I would pay full price for everything as it would have been £10.80 in total, but for £5 we have just had a filling, really tasty meal!!2011 wins: £481Eleventh Heaven: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 110 -

Yes I did...simply because of the awful look, price and lack of quality of the food.

I've had the Ken Hom sweet and sour chicken before and it was delicious in fact I got it on the same deal nervousftb, it was that nice I have bought it since. Next time it's on offer I suggest giving it a try... You might even like itIf At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

We had the Chicken and Black Bean that was on offer, with Egg Fried rice and spring rolls. It was delicious! In fact, it was on a par with the M&S Chinese meals we have as a treat0
