IPaul Newman salad dressing? Same stuff as pumped out by dozens of factories, but because it states "Newmans own" on the label, it automatically costs far more tham a generic brand with the same ingredients.

i don't mind the paul newman stuff so much, bearing in mind that all profits go to charity
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

Probably because he is sick of getting emailed by fed up MSErs screaming "scam" or "rip off" or "how dare Tesco actually make profit and not let me eat for free"!! :rotfl:;)

I complained to him via em a few years ago regs a Tesco own-brand hoover that I bought. Got a £15 refund, my mate fixed the hoover free of charge and has worked fine ever since.

    Always worth complaining and escalating.:):rotfl:

How can this be ethically and morally right?! You complain, you get a refund, it then turns out that the thing you complain about doesn't bear complaining about because you managed to get it fixed for free and thats OK??! :(

I don't eat these sort of meals because basically i'm better than this. However seriously how can you complain about a product that you didn't even buy? If you go to a Michelin starred restaurant and order a main meal it will cost you around £40 and you'll not get a large portion, however the food will be fantasic. Its impossible to put a value on a product until you've actually tried the product.

    Why r u asking me ? Ask Tesco !

I requested them to investigate and fix it via emailing their CEO. They refused and offered me a refund as advised before in my previous posting.:)

I didn't want to try it after looking at the product ! That is why I advised 'I wouldn't even serve it to my mother-in-law' !:)

Fascinating. No, really. Someone's beat me to the punch, I see, but I'll say it anyway - why not write to the CEO of the Ken Hom brand and explain your distate for their product? I'm sure they'd really love to hear it.

It would be an interesting letter too, commenting on the quality of a product as yet untried.

    "Dear KH foods.

I don't like the look of your food. I am sure it is rubbish quality, although I have no evidence to support this.

Can I have my money back?

Please note I did not spend any money on your product however this in no way invalidates my claim against your company

    Yours

Went to golf today. Forget to defrost my chicken before I went for a curry tonight.

So went in Tesco to buy a Chinese dish as an alternative. Saw Ken Hom's sweet and sour chicken on shelf priced at £3-00. Opened sleeve to look at meal to see big tomatoes, very little chicken, etc. Very disapointed until I saw Shanghai Garden Sweet and Sour Chicken with Egg Fired Rice Priced at £2-30. Loads of chicken, generous helpings and tasty.

I won't be touching Ken Hom's stuff in future. For me, it is vastly overpriced for what the food packets contain compared to it's rivals. Very disappointing and surprising.

I brought one of his meals and i was disappointed with it, I just put it down to buy and try, It was on a deal when i brought it so no big loss. I have to say Lidl do a frozen curry for about £1.99 it was £1.29 the other week. My neighbour and I both brought one and had that it was fantastic. I would pay full price for that because there was loads of rice and loads of meat in both we even could not eat all the rice :T.
