I havent used them but their "contact us" address is listed as being used by a different business

I seem to have made the same error. Placed an order with them this morning now having doubts about the authenticity of the company as they are obviously NOT based in the UK and their telephone number is not working. Have now called my bank to cancel my card but unable to cancel the payment already made to discountpetcareco.uk

As as rule I'd never use a company which doesn't have a proper UK registered address on it. It seems their company address is also shared by a number of other companies (you can google the address) and they admit their phone number doesn't work. Has anybody else has difficulties with discountpetcare.co.uk ?

Their site uses language such as "fall sale" and "toll-free" number which don't suggest a UK-based site although the domain is registered to an address in "Durset" - do they mean Dorset?

It doesn't bode well.

I agree that it might also be worth checking your credit card statements against the amount of the order, and blocking your card as a precaution.

Shouldn't really be posting people addresses on here. Also how do you know that they dont just use an office suite in London for their operations? Rented full service offices are big in London at the moment for start ups- not their fault they may not be able to afford a big flash set of offices on their own just yet.

Hi All, first time post on Money Saving Expert, but this is right up my street.

I'm from a leading UK online pet pharmacy (won't name which one) - I was informed about discountpetcare.co.uk today when one of our customers told me that she was able to purchase Frontline Combo from them without a prescription (Frontline Combo is a prescription-only medication). A week later she received some counterfeit Frontline from Barbados! discountpetcare is clearly a scam, they don't have a working phone or fax number (they insist on only being emailed) and their "office" is nothing more than a mail redirection service in London.

I would just like to clarify a few things:

First of all, it is a criminal offence to purchase animal medication from abroad,
Secondly, it's also an offence to purchase prescription-only medication without a prescription,
Thirdly, animal medicines may only be supplied from premises that are registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) - this ensures that the medication is stored in the correct manner and is safe to use on our animals.

People buying medication from discountpetcare have no idea if the medication is genuine or not, or whether it's been incorrectly stored.

I have spoken with the VMD today and they are aware of discountpetcare and are working to get this company shut down. I have also been in touch with goDaddy.com, the hosting company for discountpetcare and informed them. They assure me that discountpetcare will be removed in a few days.

can i ask why havent you reported this to the police then? surely if its illegal to purchase vet meds from abroad then its illegal to send them to the uk in the first place?

i can see you posted 2 weeks ago...and now its too late for me cos ive been scammed also. i have the fraud department of my bank involved and will be contacting local police now...so hopefully noone else will be.
