Car parking at work

  • OP I suggest you just get a pair of wellies. The school has provided alternative parking as a benefit, they do not have to do this.
Think yourself lucky you don't just get the car park closed like my wife did and have to walk in from quarter of a mile away with all your bags.

No damage will result to anyone's car from that car park if they drive carefully.

As above + I don't see how anyone can be getting mud into their brakes, only deep mud will do that..... At most a minor splattering up inside the wheel arches and down the side of the car, but certainly not onto any vital components.

Your gonna get muddy feet and quite frankly that's the only problem I see.... I think the rest of these "facts" have just been piled on top to make it seem more serious than it really is.

Can't the school / council get a couple of wagons of hardcore and level the temporary parking area down?

Wouldn't be a major expense, a lot of work, or cause any irreparable damage.

If everyone at the school is complaining, it may be a temporary solution?

It is all probably down to costs, if the work is going to be complete in a year, you should expect say 6 months where the car park is wet and boggy, and the other 6 months where there shouldn't be many problems.

You're quite welcome to park on her every morning then and put your theory to the test...

Wheels are about 1cm deep with mud/sand, which, as you drive off on tarmac, you can hear splattering under the car...

Until you've actually been on the car park and tried, please try to reserve judgement in that respect!

Finally, someone who doesn't say "buy some wellies" :)

Yes, that's a solution the builders have given, and we would be happy to go ahead. But the head says no, because "the grass will be dead". Well sorry, but I think after what's currently happened at the minute, they're gonna have to do something to get the grass growing properly anyway...

Then I'd have to move my car, and get him moaning at me for ages :rotfl:

I did park in his space when he was skiiving (sorry, working from home) the other day...
