Car parking at work

Hi guys...
Just wondered how things stand with this, as from what I've read, I get conflicting advise...
At my place of work (a school), they're having some building works done. This has meant that our school car park has had to be closed... Now, they have tried to rectify this by segregating a section of the playing fields, and put some stuff down to allow us to park there. This is the type of thing we have on the grass:

However, as you can imagine, this has gotten very muddy with all the rain of late, and the amount of traffic driving through. So, our main issue with this, is that it's completely damaging the car. People have taken their car in for service and mot's, and have failed or had advisories because of the mud clogging brakes, suspension etc... One of our colleagues husband is a mechanic, and said that it needs to be thoroughly cleaned out as it'll cause bad damage to the car...
Another issue, is that because of the mud, it's making walking around the car park quite an issue because it's slippy... In my eyes, a major health and safety issue. Especially considering the only access to the car park is the main entrance, which is muddy all the way accross...
Now, from what I've read, because there was a car park when we started employment, this should be seen as a benefit, as part of the contract. It was even stated to me at interview about how we're lucky to have our own car park! So, from what I've read, they cannot take away the car park, as it was a benefit of employment... But then I've heard conflicting issues also, saying that you should not be expecting parking...
The other issue I've heard, is that because a car park is being offered, the company should ensure that it meets with H&S compliance... Which, I don't think this does, as would be quite easy for someone to slip over.
We're trying to get the head teacher to resolve a situation for decent parking for us, but he seems very reluctant to do this, as he has a nice comfy parking spot at the front of the school on tarmac! So he doesn't care tbh!!! He hadn't even been down to look at how bad it was after all our complaining until about 2 weeks ago (it's been like this since just before Christmas!).
Is there anything that we can say about it, or, as he says, "we should be thankful for the car park, and stop moaning. If we don't like it, park on the streets." Only problem with that is, that the streets around school are always full as people live in them, and are quite a distance away anyway... So, walking in with all your bags etc is a bit of a trek...
So, any advice greatly appreciated

what would you like your school to do for you? tarmac over the playing fields at great expense to the public and inconvenience to the kids? grow up and get a pair of wellys and a jet wash, or park away from the school, its only for a while until the building works are finishedBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

If you don't like it, park on the streets or use public transport. Its only temporary. Mud will not cause your car to fail an MOT unless you've been doing some serious off roading!

lmao, great expense to the public... You have no clue do you! Do you realise how much the council pay themselves for being "consultants"??? Do you know what these "consultants" actually do??? Put it this way, you'd be able to tarmac over the whole car park for cheaper than the council pay themselves for the "work" they do on it.
Plus, a whole year of having to put it with it isn't gonna be fun is it!
Plus, then there's the expense of pulling down the old building this new build is going to replace. We've had quotes in to refurbish it, and use it as extra room for the children to benefit from. Will cost about £35k to do that. But no, the council have it in their mind that they want to tear it down ... at a cost of over double that!!!
And no, I did not say I wanted it tarmac'd over... I said we wanted something better done to it...:rotfl:

Well, if you ever saw the amount of mud there's been there, then yes ... it is like serious off roading!
Plus, I would gladly use the public transport if the school will excuse the extra hours it would take for me to get to work! I only live about 10 miles away from where I work ... but for me to get to work on public transport would required 3 different buses or 1 train and 2 buses. That means it'd take me an extra 1.5 hours to get to work, and 1.5 hours to get home (buses/trains do not run in conjunction with each other for the journey I make). So, if they would be happy for me to work 5 hours rather than 8, I would be happy to use public transport... And, as I said, we do try to park on the streets ... bit difficult when the people where you work don't actually work themselves and so leave their cars on the roads...0 -

Try the Union......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Can you post a picture of the temporary parking area - I'm interested to see just how muddy it is......"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Surely the sensible thing to do would be move the parking area around the field rather than damage one single area to the point of no return......
We know what they about academics and common sense.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
