Like I said, I'm going senile.
Mind you, in my own defence, I was looking at it at silly o'clock last night.

    :o

Just realised the motherboard comes with a metal adaptor plate so everything pokes through the back of the case as normal.

Hey rmg1, what do you mean ............... going :D

    Hi guys.

Got all the parts and everything seems OK.
Think I've run into a bit of a snag, though.
I'm installing the CPU and I can't get the cover to go back flat without quite a bit of tension.
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

I've made sure the CPU is in the right way round and the right way up.

No, this is just the CPU which sites under a little cover with the middle cut out.
There was a plastic plate in it when the mobo arrived so I've replaced that with the CPU.
I can get the cover back down but the tension lever sticks up and I don't want to break anything.
    Btw, this is an Intel.

I decided to go for a change and go Intel.
It's an Intel Core i5 2400 3.1GHz Socket LGA 1155 6MB L3 Cache to give the full title.

So it looks like I've almost got to force it closed to put enough pressure onto the CPU for it to make a good contact?
