    You neighbours sound like scum.

    Move. End of.

The law in our country is an !!!. It is geared towards helping scum and the bone-idle, and punishing decent, hard-working, law-abiding citizens.

But, the original op's neighbours must work because the dog barks when they get up at 5am to go to work.
People have to learn to live with neighbours and their routines. My son's girlfriend gets up at 3.30am to go to work and my son at 4am, they have to let the dog out before they go to work (I've no idea if she barks). But on the other hand, they go to bed early, but they don't say to their neighbours "you can't have the TV on or the washing machine, or let your dog out after 9pm".
People should adapt more, or live in the middle of nowhere, where they can live in blissful peace.

    OR

The OP has complained about their washing machine & then their dog & now has the cheek to keep her TV blaring;)

TV so loud they can't hear the doorbell;)

My neighbour & I ignore each other & let each other live. She makes noise sometimes, DIY, dog, etc. I do too.
    So what.......
We all make noise, I wouldn't dream of complaining about normal household noise.

    Huh?

TV was not blaring and never has been. The police officer agreed it was slightly louder than average but not too loud.

Also, what would you class as normal household noise? Washing machine rattling things off your wall? and vibrating you as you're sat down? is that normal? Dogs barking so loud that you can record it on your phone while still lying in bed at 5am? I accept that people do make noise I have no problem with that what so ever, it's when it becomes excessive that it becomes a problem. Each time that i've been round ive always asked politely and been nice with them. I've always said to them everytime ive been round that if we're doing anything come round and we'll sort it straight away.

I do not have a doorbell.

Also, the dog barking issue was probably about a year ago now, and she does not work any more, she stays in all day.

It's just the fact that they called the police, they have the balls to tailgate us, scowl at us everytime we see them outside, but not come round and ask us to turn the tv down.

Just had a police van parked outside and two community support officers visit the house asking for nextdoor.. they had the wrong house number on the paperwork.

Assuming this will be a follow up?

"I do not have a doorbell."

Buy a doorbell, that will stop any children being frightened when people bang the window.

......Now our 3 year old daughter has been having nightmares tonight about 'the misters banging on the window' which is really upsetting.....
Not sure what your child is scared of as she saw nothing if she was upstairs in the bath??

And noise problems are within Police remit.

Not when they're in their own home.

My neighbour used to play unbelievably loud music at 3am in the morning - I called local police station and the police stated they had NO powers whatsoever to enter her house and that power had been handed over to the councils.

How do you know the neighbours didn't come round to ask you to turn it down? They may have done, and you didn't hear them, same as you didn't hear the police officer. The neighbours probably would not want to bang on your window in the way the police did, maybe they thought you'd over react or something...who knows.

Although a lot of people will tell you its not the way to go and it will not sort anything and you or you partner will get in trouble.....

By now Id have taken a bat to you neighbour...especially the trying to intimidate me with a car...sharp hard press on the brakes would have sorted that out...

You neighbour is a bully and the best way to deal with a bully is to stand up to them and teach them a lesson.

However you are likely to be arrested for hitting someone with a bat..
