I have to say, a few weeks on from colouring my hair with this, it doesn't feel so bad now. The straw like texture has faded and it almost feels normal now. I still wouldn't use this stuff again though.

I'm so glad I read this tread before using the 'foam of horrors'... :rotfl:
I have a light blond hair, but I recieved a black foam + 2 free voulchers, that I used to get a 'light' blond foam.
I didn't really like the color of it on the box but I reasoned that its free and how bad can it be?
I think its better I just give it away before I end up with who knows what colored hair?

PS- my was delivered by a specialist carrier- got a note through the door that they need signature so I had to arrange to have have somebody home to sign for it- must say the OH wasn't amused when this arrived!!!

Used mine, this morning. Dark Brown. What a mess!
Much too runny - despite a vigorous shake . dripped and splashed everywhere.
I now have some rather fetching dark stains on my ear and forehead, and look like a monkey, where it has dyed some of my blond facial hair through the constant dripping.
I agree, despite using the conditioner, my hair feels like straw!
Back to the drawing board - Nice & Easy. Crap & Runny !!

Going back to the John Freda Foam next time.

Exactly the same experience here. I dye my hair regularly at home no probs. This turned my hair black, supposed to be dark brown and 1 week later still rinsing colour out of my hair when I wash it? (Colour not fading yet though :( ).

Colour also died my scalp  had to scrub really hard for a few washes to get it off, ended up in my skin flaking (flaking off black I might add). Never had this happen before.

Hair felt horrible until after a few washes, don't think much of the conditioner..

Hard to use as well , but also wasn't a fan of John Frieda mousse, so back to Excell 10 for me.

    AVOID!

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here! :D
  • The colour was nice, and I have long hair and it coloured it all, but it didn't foam, was rather disapointed in this.
Also, got some on my face, rubbed it off and it blistered - not sure if i rubbed to hard or it was the stuff but it hurt and spoiled my day

I totally agree with you Savvybuny! How do people expect to have lighter hair if they don't bleach it? I have medium brown hair and that's why I asked for the black one. I didnt want to have those awful dark brown with red in it. Even though I would consider a Cheryl red one if they had it in the line! I will color my hair this weekend, hopefully everything is goignt to be alright!

Basically you need to have a lighter shade than the shade you are using.

It is impossible to get from brown to blonde without using bleaching products to remove the colour, once you have bleached your hair to a light enough shade you can then use your foam colour (toner to tone your hair to the right shade. Many people do not know this and end up with unwanted results.

I always dye my hair exactly the same colour. The last time I went for something different was a bright red, that I thought wouldn't take on my very dark hair. I had short curls at the time, and my goodness was that dye vivid. I looked like Ronald Mcdonald! :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about your dye troubles....However, I have dark curls and love my hair bright red but nothing I have tried gets a good result!...I used to use Body Shop 'extra red henna' but they discontinued it few years back  So, if you dont mind sharing what dye it was I would be HUGELY grateful...:)

Mine was ok.. Some medium blonde colour No9 i think.

Hubby always applies and he said it was no bother.

Hair was previously dyed brown so has lightened it nicely, i use any dye thats cheap and whatever colour - within reason thats cheap. I have 2 lighter blonde ones i got 75% off so this N and E one has just lightened better for the next dye.

One thing though did dye my forehead abit but wiped off.

And yep will be using the 2 vouchers for dye......... its FREE. :D

Hi all this is my first post. I just wanted to tell about my experience. I was very nervous about using my freebie dye which was also no.9 light blonde also, like the lady above. After reading all of the bad reviews on here and other sites I was putting off using it. However needs must! I am broke at the moment and my hair really needed some attention.

I prepared the bathroom for disasters, covered everything!. Result ... Perfect. Not a drop of die on anything. Really easy to apply. It foamed perfectly. I didn't shake it much at all just very gently up and down 3/4 times. The die was easy to apply on my own, washed out easily and the conditioner was enough and left my hair lovely and soft and shiney. I am really pleased with it and will be using the vouchers to stock up on more. I hope this helps anyone else wondering about whether to use it or not. :T
