Got a dark blonde with my voucher as I have mid brown hair.It turned out dark brown. Very messy, watery foam and difficult to smooth over hair.Couldn't "feel" the mixture as it went on so it went all over the place. Very difficult to get off skin too.
    Wouldn't use it again.

Got the sample today (eventually after a missed delivery on Wednesday, rebooking it online for Friday -didn't arrive after sitting in all day as I didn't know what the parcel was and it had to be signed for!)

I'm a bit put off using this by what everyone is saying about this product but will give it a go - I'll be using it on my mum's hair anyway and her hair is short so will grow out quickly!

I also am not sold on the foam concept - I had a free sample of the John Freida foam a while ago - and found it more difficult to apply than the usual product.

Will see how the colour works out.

Should have told a few more porkies (or perhaps the truth instead). Got the welcome to the party email, but nothing else since. :D

I tried the Medium Brown and it turned my hair black. I had to run to chemist and bought an ash blonde in a different make to try and lighten it but it did nothing. I could have got work with the Adams family. Had to go to hairdresser and get highlights in to lighten it a bit. I would urge you to think very carefully before you use this. Would definately not recommend it.

I think the problem that most people have had is that they don't really know what the product is supposed to do.

Basically you need to have a lighter shade than the shade you are using. The products are are permanent toners, this means that if you have brown hair and try to use blonde it will go orange/coppery. Ash brown is a grey brown, if you have blonde in your hair you are likely to end up with dark grey.

This product works well for teh red mahogany shades and the dark browns but I personally do not feel it is suitable for any shade of blonde or light browns unless you are looking for a darker shade than your won.

It is impossible to get from brown to blonde without using bleaching products to remove the colour, once you have bleached your hair to a light enough shade you can then use your foam colour (toner to tone your hair to the right shade. Many people do not know this and end up with unwanted results.

If in doubt ask a hairdresser, but they would not likely recommend at home products like this, if the colour goes wrong then you have to strip the colour off the hair before using anything else, can be quite costly and even in boots a hair colour stripper will set you back around £20 (b4 is the brand they stock).

My friends hair is dark brown/black naturally. I used the mid brown on her hair and it came out black/brown.
I went into superdrug to pick myself up a different colour and they all look exactly the same tone of browny black, with a couple of blonde options! I didnt even bother getting one, and thats pretty bad when they are free lol!

I got 5G Medium Golden Brown as the free pack, and then got 5RB Medium Reddish Brown with a free voucher. Both make me nervous now, the latter slightly less so. Anyone got any experience of 5RB Medium Reddish Brown??

I used the dark reddish brown left one for twenty munutes and it was very dark but i like it, the foam was messy though a nightmare to get off my skin and the bathroom got a bit covered in it, I personally wouldnt buy this colour but mainly due to the fact it was runny, and a pain to get off the skin

That might be the case for some people, but I have dark blonde hair the same shade as the "dark blonde" hair on the pack and have been dyeing my hair both at home and in the salon for over 15 years, with and without bleaching, permanent and semi-permanent, including with normal Nice 'n' Easy dyes. This product lightened my hair, but filled it with red tones (I don't have any, even when I bleach I barely get any ginger) and I think it is crap. The texture's crap, the colours are all far too dark, and it stinks.
