...Why do you keep wittering on about LBC...Exactly. Why?...
1. I will not justify the content of my posts to other members.
2. One mention of the name produces howls of derision from several quarters - it's those who reply who are doing the wittering.0 -

Oh dear very defensive. Is it because they don't stand scrutiny?
Why use a Solicitor and expend costs for something which a layman can do? Indeed the layman can also get fully competent advice and have a defence drafted f.o.c. by passionate practitioners. That is what the Small Claims Court is all about.
What does LBC charge for the same? If you want to support her, you find out her fee structure and let us know. If not, your intervention just looks like another piece of spamming.
I personally haven't derided her. What I am sure of though is that, the use of a solicitor doesn't guarantee any quality. You only have to look at the Solicitor acting for the PPC in this case. He may currently have a badge but my 77 year old mother could do a better job. :rotfl:0 -

As above by backfoot.
I've posted several times I have no knowledge of the quality of service offered by LBC, only knowledge of its existence.
I am therefore neutral on the subject.
Plenty of other posters have come out against LBC.
It is up to anyone reading the board to make up their own mind.0 -

So where exactly did I deride her?
If you no knowledge of her quality of service why have you mentioned her. What about all the other thousands of Solicitors?
If you are going to enter the debate, please make an effort to give it some substance.0 -

If posters who have had several years of dealing with these types of problems are telling you from experience that the person is to say the least giving very doubtful advice you think they are producing howls of derision.
Maybe it should suggest something to you, just possibly that they may be right and you could be giving bad advice to people, these forums are after all about assisting people not giving them further problems.0 -
There's some stuff in the FAQs about cliques and old hands not welcoming new posters.
I wonder what it meant?
You have my points on this matter.
Make of them what you will.0 -

Those that are not prepared to listen when experienced posters who have knowledge of a particular subject and have been giving advice for years point out that their advice is not good may not be as welcome as new posters that are prepared to listen and admit that maybe they could be wrong, they are always welcome.

You are playing the victim card.:o
It's nothing to do with new posters. I am a relatively new poster to this topic as I was affected by a PPC and a fraudulent claim. I researched the topic here and other forums thoroughly. I have concluded that this is an essentially straightforward topic with some well established guidelines. It doesn't need Solicitors, in fact I genuinely and generally believe they are not as up to speed as some of the best posters here and Pepipoo.
I now feel confident enough to direct people to where they will best get help or bring up relevant topics or issues.
I followed the thread about HJ and LBC and saw nothing to merit any acolades to either of them.Indeed the HJ advice was plainly wrong in most posters opinion. Therefore it seems strange to see his own legal expert on his website, differing in opinion. He can't value her advise very much can he?
I note you didn't answer one point from my last post. Nor have you taken on board the substance of most of the other posters. It's nothing about cliques at all, but the substance of each argument as it is presented.
As I said before ,please contribute but don't expect wishy washy stuff to go down unchallenged.
In fact what are you saying? Use LBC, don't use her, is she free or expensive. If you are neutral about her, what was the big deal?0 -
NeverAgain wrote: »HO87 wrote of offering to pay £10:...Nevertheless, the fact remains that whilst LB-C makes it clear that the advice is from HJ himself she can hardly be described as distancing herself from it and, indeed, by offering it in an unqualified form...
LBC's most recent post on the topic on her forum on Jan 11 this year, referring to the private parking companies: "The guidance is never connect with them, never answer any post, don't even read it if it bothers you - just put it in the bin."
Seems as though they either get their names mixed up when answering questions, or they are one and the same. LBC's advice on this occasion (in November 2010) was send them the £10:

backfoot,
Yet another bold statement you cannot substantiate.
Rarely have I seen so many words used to say so little.
Cajef,
What is all this garbage about years of knowledge and being right or wrong?
I posted a link to a service, no more no less.
It's got nothing to do with being right or wrong.
A few forum jackals seized on the link and have been picking at it ever since.
Big deal.
Now hopefully for the last time:
Anyone reading this thread can make up their own mind.
Is that right or wrong?0
