And the one who tells you to send £10 to the PPC "in full and final settlement".
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

    No.

Honest John suggests the offer of a tenner.

The legal expert is Lucy Bonham-Carter who disagrees with that advice.

A brief root around the website would have told you that.

I hold no brief for either of them, although a lot of what LBC says seems to make sense to me.

The regulars on this site are well aware of who LBC is.

She started posting at one time on this board and was shot down in flames for posting bad advice and arguing with several of the knowledgeable posters here, it may seem like sense to you but it was nonsense to most here.

I'm not quite sure where that takes us.

'Most here' are anonymous - including me - which limits the worth of the posts.

LBC is, as far as I can gather, a real person who is contactable, and who is running - with others - some sort of legal advice service business for drivers.

She/the business has to stand by what it says in the way that 'most here' do not.

Which source of advice is likely to be the most reliable?
  • Repeat the advice given on pepipoo, be very wary of any private mesages as the ppc's have been known to lurk on here as wella nd are not averse to muddying the waters.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

It does not take us anywhere, because people are anonymous does not mean that they do not know what they are talking about, just because she has some sort of status on another forum does not mean she is always right, in view of her postings here no one would recommend going to LBC for advice.

In a word in answer to your second point 'Pepipoo'

Yes, if you get a pm from anyone from MSE over this, then get them checked out before replying.

Why would LBC act for you in a case like this?

    Will she attend Court?

    All for nothing? :)

    ...all for nothing...

I believe the business model is a free initial consultation and then fees for any subsequent work.

Going by a few of her posts, it looks to me like the type of case she or her associates would take on, and attend court if necessary.

But there is a better answer to these questions.

    Ask her.
