    Morning All,

Well H2B Wedding ring arrived yesterday, it's lovely only problem is it's far too big so now i've got to sort out sending it back - arrgg He had his size done at a jewellers but he's never worn a ring before & said it felt far too tight, I said it will do as your not used to it. Anyway we were ording online as he's having tungstun & insisted on ordering one a size & 1/2 bigger. Now it's here & it's far too big, I won't say I told you so;) Fingers crossed it can go back ok.

    Hope everyone is ok.

  • Hey Ladies,

I haven't been on in a while, it's nice to see everything that everyone is getting prepared! It's very exciting that our weddings are now only 1 year away! Eep!

I've had a it of a hard time over the past week, last Saturday we went to my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. I very rarely see them or anyone else on my dads side of the family as my parents divorced when I was 6 and my dad remarried when I was 7/8. In the past I've been upset by my step mum quite a few times when she made remarks about my Mum and Saturday was no exception. She turned up very drunk (no surprise as she's always drunk) introduced herself to my OH... whom she's met twice before (in the 7 years we've been together) then steadily got more and more drunk before coming over to me and making a comment about my Mum talking rubbish about the wedding (making me cry and having to hide it from the rest of the family so as not to ruin the occassion)

I want my dad at my wedding (though I've asked my mum to give me away) and up until Saturday I was fine with my SM being there... since then she's rung me drunk saying someone said I was crying and demanding to know why... again urgh... I'm terrified she's going to make a scene at the wedding, but don't feel like I can't invite her as I want my dad to be there... It's a nightmare, not really sure what to do about it...

Urgh sorry for bringing people down with my venting *sigh*

On a brighter note my mother in law to be visited the venue last week and liked it :D Focus on the positives...

    Amy

THanks for all the lovley welcomes folks, i hadnt realised I'd already posted!! Silly me.

Since we are getting married abroad there is not much for me to plan so I'm feeling quite chilled, seeing what everyone is busy with is sort of making me glad that I dont have much to sort till I get there!!
My mam put the deposit down on my dress about 6 weeks ago so thats one big thing out of the way. I'm thinking about rings also.. I'm not a big jewllery fan and dont wear anything.. I havent actually got an engagement ring yet and Im not even that fussed about it!! Haha, I must be mad letting him get away with no ring yet! I don't have a clue what to go for!
We arent doing formal invitations as such because the people who are coming away with us already know all of the details, we have decided to leave invites in each guests room when they arrive in the hotel since everyone is staying in the same resort as me. We will then send people invites to our 'at home' wedding reception. Invites were causing me no end of stress!!!
    on the road to recovery..:o
  • Another date twin for me with lizbristol!! Judging by your username we're getting married close to each other as well - you never know, we might pass each other in our posh cars! :D

Fantastic news on the dress saintly - I'm really pleased you had such good service as well, makes such a difference!

Amy, I'm so sorry about your step mum being so rude - is there any way you can talk to your dad about it? No-one should have to worry about whether someone will upset them on their own wedding day.

Hope everyone else is OK - unfortunately I am a little ill, having had food poisoning last night, after our celebratory meal! Feeling a lot better now, but poor H2B was affected worse than I was, and ended up going to his mate's stag today lying in the back of the car armed with a pillow and sick bowl. Oops... Still, looking on the bright side, at least we'll never forget our Tissue Paper anniversary! :rotfl:
