We were cut off once (when attempting to get the 3 months for half price offer which we have actually been successful with now for 7 months) and after 3 weeks they phoned up and offered us the full package at half price for three months so it is worth sitting them out.

2 months ago I was given 3 months half price. I called them today and told them I was going to disconnect and go with NTL who were offering sky sports free for 12 months.

I've just been given another 3 months half price, making it 4 in total as I still have one month to go on th original offer.

The other offer they did was 20% of the price for 12 months, either way it's worth a free phone call.

We were cut off when trying to get half price offer.It is now about 3 weeks and no phone call. Do we continue to wait or phone up and ask if there are any offers?

I just got my wife to ring and she got the 3 months half price! Thanks to the OP. :T

However, most of the saving will promptly be spent on a prem plus season ticket which is available again for £50.

IT may be that because I am in the 19.50 they dont care. If I changed to the £35 package THEN tried to cancel they would probably beg me to stay.

I beg everyone in the uk to stop sky then see how they act.
I have been with sky from day 1 even before sky digi came about,ln 2004 i went travelling and decided i cancel sky as it would not be watched while away so that year and 8 months later i still have not started sky again even when i was with them all those years.
I wanted a sky+ and was waiting till they dropped in price i see that new customers get it cheap and now existing customers also but there is a catch you need to take multiroom for that deal,but what sums it up they say as i am not with sky right now i cant get this deal.
I would need to start up with them again then maybe get the deal,well i am not interested in starting up unless i get a good deal on a sky+ box.
I said i dont have a other tv and i live alone and so multi is no good to me,they say well if you dont take that they the deal for the box will be £100 more but they want me to start with them again even before i can get sky+

I said forget it if you cant give me a sky+ with no multi at the deal price and i would also probably take out a monthly package of around £35 a month for movies etc etc they insist i have multi or its the more expensive price for the box.

I have had enough of them and dont need them,they need me and others money more or they would not be where they are today but insist to treat people like this,i just might get a freeview instead that does the same stuff the sky box does and maybe top up some extra channels.

Anyone recommend if i dont get freeview how i can get sky+ and not have to deal with sky direct would my local sky dealers have betters deals?

Anyway i think everyone should cancel they should not get our money

I'm now on my 5th '3 months for 1/2 price deal!'

Phoned them up to cancel and they offered me 2 months at 40% off - I explained to her that I still had 1 months left of my other deal so it wasn't really a very good deal and explained that I wanted to cancel coz it was costing too much and I could afford half price but not full price.

She went away and came back saying her manager had said it was fine!

Not sure if it matters but I phoned up on a Sunday - I remember reading somewhere on this thread that people were having more luck phoning up at weekends.

I had sky world at half price for first three months, then downgraded to family pack on my fourth month. I now want to upgrade again for the football, are these offers only for people who have been with sky for over 12 months?
