And BTCare never did answer the email.

Did find out that a couple of other suppliers are carrying FTTP from March 2011. So looks like I will be using them!
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!
  • if the mse rep didnt get back to you surely thats mis reprasenting! not reping you but reping bt. perhaps you should make a valid point to the abuse team that their fronting if this is not the first rep thats NOT HELPED. in a way you have them over a barrel, FTTP is trial'd in your street, but you were sold infinity wich on a bt side of things your number in the checker would of told him/her that you werent enabled at the exchange so clearly mis-sold. you paid for what you were were told you'd get but havent got it.

reminder to BT REPS ON MSE IF YOU CANT BE BOTHERED TO FOLLOW UP AFTER REQUESTING SOMEONE TO CONTACT YOU REGARDING A PROBLEM DONT POST AT ALL.

The BT reps did reply a few moments after my post above, no help and told me what I already knew a few days ago. I'm still chasing this complaint as I was clearly missold and I still have their equipment which needs to be collected.

The main problem is that you get passed around with no one taking responsibility for the whole sales issue, they break it down into line and broadband with my line now cancelled I still have the broadband part to sort out. But as I have found out for fibre to the premises I don't need a PSTN line as it is a complete install on it's own.

I'd have a look on the link below, bung your phone number in & it'll tell you what you can get from your exchange.

    http://www.btwholesale.com/pages/static/Community/Broadband_Community/Coverage/ADSL_Availibility_Checker.html#

    This is mine;
Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 2Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 8Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 7Mbps and 8Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 32.7Mbps and upstream line speed of 7Mbps.

The actual stable line speed supportable will be determined during the first 10.....

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 5Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 3Mbps and 7.5Mbps. Our test also indicates that your line could support an estimated ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line speed of 1Mbps and downstream line speed of 2.5Mbps; typically the downstream speed would range between 1.5Mbps and 3.5Mbps.

The actual stable line speed supportable will be determined during the first 10 days of use. This speed may change over time, to ensure line stability is maintained.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a WBC Fibre To The Premises technology with an estimated Broadband downstream line speed of up to 100Mbps and upstream line speed of up to 30Mbps.

Our records show the following network service information for your premises:-
    Single Dwelling Unit Residential
    Feed Not Evaluated.

This is the result for my Orange Line, but also my address and postcode, clearly the service is supported.

Was on to BT yesterday and again passed around for 1hr 28mins, although I doing other things at the same time. I need them to collect this infinity box and pay up!!! OR fit the service as contracted to!

BT never did return the manager call as promised.....

Didn't think they would to be honest.

Really this is a thread to all those out there who are thinking of signing up to new BT services, it gives you an insight into what an effort it is when things go wrong to get BT to put them right.

I have dealt with companies with poor customer service in the past but this one is the worst I have ever come across for a long time!!

Have they taken any of your money yet? If so and it was by direct debit you are entitled to claim it back as part of the DD guarantee and if by CC you can ask for the transaction to be reversed. Of course you will have to brave yet another CS department and banks are notoriously bad.....
