You normally have a number I think? There'll be a machine by which you pay with your card and give reference no - I think??
Anyone else know what I mean and can possibly explain it better than I can please? :)

    Really stupid question.:o

When I buy a train ticket at the station I get the bit of thin cardboard that goes through the automatic gate machine at the station.

What do I get if I book on-line? Do they send me 'proper' tickets?
Everything happens for a reason :)

Jue I'm sorry to read DH's news. Thinking of your family x

Had good fun at the school quiz night last night.

Walking friend's physio husband has diagnosed my knee problem. There is a muscle on the outside of the thigh that runs from the hip to the knee and it slides over the knee bone when I walk causing friction. It has become irritated and needs to be stretched. I'm very pleased as I was scared it might require surgery if it was cartilage related. it might take 2 weeks or 2 month to respond to treatment:eek:

DH (and his hangover) has taken DS2 to a school football match. Unusually we have DD1 home on a Saturday morning as she was babysitting for a DF down the road. DS2 is over his lurgy but is hobbling with his bandaged foot.

I'm going to have some breakfast then tackle the lists again.

Morning everyone - just finished my first week, and can't believe the difference it has made.

Feeling totally in control of the house, and surprised at how quickly you can make a difference to a room. One of our spare bedrooms is used for ironing, storing bits and pieces etc. At the beginning of last week it was full of Christmas decorations waiting to go into the loft, piles of ironing waiting to be done, and all sorts of odds and sods that that just been put there for no particular reason at all!
After a couple of days (30 mins each day) it was completely clear, and nearly all ironing done:T

I'm just doing 5 things a day (apart from regular stuff) and on the agenda today is:-

    1. 15m ironing
    2. Have jewellery (mainly costume) all over the bedroom in different bags/boxes/drawers, so going to sort through and organise this
    3. Have a drawer full of cds - lots of freebies from newspapers which will never be listened to - sorting through these
    4. Do a shelf of the bookcase
    5. Sort out larder.
Probably clipping dog claws as well

OH is very impressed with this new regime:)

Hope you all have a good weekend

    No question is stupid.

Or if there are I most certainly lead the queue!

When you have completed your booking on line, you will receive a confirmation with a gobbledygook number on it which you need to take to the station to punch into the machine - it is normally sufficiently gobbledygooky that it's a pain - or perhaps that's just the company I have to use! When I have done it you also need to have the card you have booked your ticket with, which you also have to put into the machine to confirm it's you.

    Hope you're going somewhere exciting.

Well, tonight's dinner is in the SC - it should have been Thursday's, but that missed out on the making of, owing to me mopping up all the water from the WM. Fingers crossed that the charity SC works, and that the recipe's a good one. :) It contains wine. ;)

My efforts last night to unblock the waste pipe from the WM have failed. Looks as if it is now probably also blocked with caustic soda! The boiling water I put in has gone overnight, so I've topped it up, and poked it with my piece of wire. It's all at such an awkward angle - I just can't get any umph behind it, so it's looking as if it will have to wait for DH's more mechanical skills - which won't be until Monday.

Off to tackle some flying. I seem to have put 20 jobs on my list.

Crafty, east mids trains give you the option of having them posted, otherwise number in machine at station prints the tickets. Dh does this a lot for work. Don't forget quidco.

  • Hi :) yesterday was a bit of a strange day. Was supposed to drive to my Mums to go for a walk with her and the dog but my car wouldn't start :( I don't use it regularly, so the battery has gone flat. Anyway, I walked to my Mums, then went for a long walk with her, then walked back home. Was out all morning, walked about 8 miles all in and was really tired when I got home. Did my dailies, but not much else - was too tired plus the children finish school at 1pm on Fridays which left me 30 mins after I got home from my epic walk to do stuff! House is still really quite surprisingly tidy, so can't complain :D
All you ladies keep me going with your HHC's and posting list (thank you especially, Piggers :D)
Anyway, am going into my Rooms of Doom today (kids rooms!) and I may be some time.........wish me luck ;) x

  • Morning All,

Woke up before 6 today  and couldn't get back to sleep so went for 5 mile walk - it was worth it though - really quiet, cold but not too cold and no traffic (well what passes for traffic round here:)) so I could have good ipod volume without fear of being 'freaked' into a hedge by an unexpected car coming up behind me. Got back and fed beasties, lit fire, made bed and tidied the room - is it wrong to be taking such delight in the fact that I now notice these things and do something about it :rotfl: ??

    Things I could do today...

Accounts up to date - business and [STRIKE]pleasure[/STRIKE] personal

      wash kitchen floor
      Decluttering 'utility' :rotfl: room
      Meal plan for next week
      Clean out car

      Hey All,

JulieJim sorry to hear about your DH. Hope he is able to find something new soon.

Well the counselling at work went quite well yesterday. I made it through in one piece so thats good. I then spent agggges with my cousin and goddaughters before picking up paint and decorating equip.

Then this morning heard I scored 0 points in my esa medical and they are stopping my money. What is the flaming point. I have paid tax all my life so far and this is what happens when I need some help.

      I give up
