    oops!

    I decided to clean the hinge of the hob cover, so then I decided to clean the vents (this was marmalade related - I managed to 'flick' some out when I covered it up) and unscrewed the cover and soaked the bits in hot water and household soda (miraculous stuff that - makes grease removal a doddle- and I use it because of this thread). I forgot you're supposed to 'lock' the 'hinges ' down with an allen key, so I didn't.
    Upshot of it it I cannot now get the cover back on - despite a trip to B&Q to buy new tools (and this is in between ferrying girls around - DD is 15 now, as of about two hours ago -they went bowling)
    Cover is going in shed, I'll do without unless I can snaffle a big, strong man.

    Looks like it'll be in the shed a L-O-O-O-O-N-G time then :rotfl:

    so that's where the day went - but I have done loads more laundry - shall iron in a bit after a :coffee:

    Anyone else? :coffee::coffee:

    Thats the sort of thing that would happen to me, I've broke the pendant on light fittings before, after having the brilliant idea of cleaning them. Such things can end up costing a fortune :D

    Flying wise, I've got rid of a pile of ironing and about to make the tea shortly.

    I wouldn't mind BUT I've done it before. At the time I was still married so had a bloke who managed to force the things down and I re-attached the cover.
    I think I am destined to live with imperfection!

    Shysarah (((HUG))) sorry to hear about the ESA result. As far as I can make out, if you're not in possession of a current death certificate, they don't give you any money!:mad: I'm dreading getting summoned; I was retired on medical grounds a decade ago, I have a piece of paper from the Civil Service that says I'll never again be fit to work, both on physical and mental health grounds, but you can bet your boots they'll give me "nul points" also. Anyways, m'dear, try for an appeal, you've got nothing to lose, and whatever you do, don't take it personally.:o
