Sorry to hear re ESA ShySarah - have to admit to being a numpty about what exactly it is, so off to hedumacate myself.

Needless to say I haven't managed to complete 20 jobs (although in fairness some were down for tomorow). However I have ......

    Reorganised Packaging Box
    Decluttered mouse
Tidied through (except kitchen - which is for later)
Defrosted small freezer in kitchen and removed everything into large freezer in garage
Restocked small freezer in kitchen from garage freezer, making a list of everything I put in SO IT WILL BE EATEN BEFORE I BUY ANYTHING ELSE (compounded by my needing to empty lots out of the large February so I can fill it with goodies for an event at the beginning of March) and decluttered cheese scone
Prepared dinner in the SC - reminder to self, do not read 8 hours as 6 hours ......... dinnner is not quite ready - but initial tasting is indicating good things
Repeat efforts to unblock WM waste pipe ....... hmmm, the proddy things going in further, but I can still only get 1/2 pint of water in the pipe
Cleared out veg rack in the garage and made a list of what is there so I have fewer bendy carrots in future (destined for tomorrow's dinner!)
    Poo patrol
    Restock bird feeders
Small effort in the loft - wasn't on the list, but I was suddenly inspired - and Mr B now has a second box of stuff for sorting through!
Bit more decluttering in the back bedroom - the recycling bin is filling nicely - shame it's 13 days until the next collection
Weighed my eggs (that wasn't on my list either)

    And breathe ............

Do you know, I'm quite pleased I sadly wrote a list - I actually feel as if I've achieved quite a lot of baby steps - still a l-o-n-g way to go though.

Right, off to sort out the baking chocolate now I've scrubbed out a box for it to go in, then I think I will see if my pork casserole has reached perfection.

Water heater's on for a long soaky bath .............. which is the one I was too busy for but should have had yesterday according to Pigpen's orders. :rotfl:
    Work is not my Hobby
  • Too busy being ruthless in the attic to do any flying. I think we are at the 'it gets worse before it gets better' stage of decluttering.

Shysarah - really sorry about the medical- I think lame wolf has it about right:mad:

Hi all, done loads today, prompted, in part by the arrival shortly of my friend.

Hubby gone off to see his friends and won't be back until tomorrow so its a girly night.

So cooker cleaned, tiles behind it done, DW x 2, wm X 2

Eggs collected, kitchen floor wiped and swept, binbags x 2 filled and disposed of, cupboards wiped, worktops disinfected and wiped, big pans, cleaned by hand and put away. bread made, dining table cleaned, table cloth cleaned, hoovered hallway, front room, stairs, landing and bedroom.

Fire set and lit, wine chilling, house feels nice.

Hugs to those who need them. xxx

    Evening all,

Loved the story about the hamster Kaz - I read it out to Moon, expecting him to find it cute, but no - the response was "I'm watching my program." (stoopid primeval grr).

Hope you manage to fix the cooker Valli. Have you got something heavy that you can lift onto the top of it to weigh it down? Sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick, but head is full of cold, so brain is elsewhere tonight.

Well I've had a nice day today. Had been on special K plan for a week, and weighed myself on Thursday night at my M&D's to find that all I'd lost was 1lb (have been told it may be because I've been developing muscle, but felt very demotivated as even though I'd been really hungry on the plan, I'd not been tempted by the numerous cakes and biscuits in the staffrooms I've been in this week). So, I decided that as it was the weekend, and I'd been good for a week, that I deserved a treat, so I went to Starbucks this morning and had a grande skinny sugar-free hazelnut latte (still quite calorific though), with fruit toast (1/2 a cube of butter on each one).
Next, I went to the jewellers to pick up my engagement ring (they'd had to keep it so they could make the wedding band, and also so they could replate it so it matches), and it's lovely and sparkly, and looks brand new. :)
Then I went to the supermarkets and got lots of bargains for the food shop and also saw one of my favourite old highschool teachers, went home and had leftovers from when Moon cooked dinner.
I'd also been given vouchers in December for the beauty salon I go to (one for the man in my life to have a free pampering, a £5 gift voucher, and a 50% off voucher), so Moon had his first facial and massage yesterday evening (he thoroughly enjoyed it and fell asleep because they gave him a head massage too lol), and I had a facial and back cleanse this afternoon (would've been £37 but I only paid £13.50). Was nice to be pampered, and to save a bit of money on it too.
Just had a yummy dinner (butternut squash and goat's cheese filo tarts, mixed bean salad and a green salad, followed by a kiwi fruit for dessert, and then a naughty treat of a thornton's chocolate from new year's).

I'm off to the gym tomorrow with my Mum (she has a free guest pass), so I will weigh myself on their scales that show body fat etc, and also ask one of the instructors what exercises I can do at home. Then I have my Zumba class in the evening, so hopefully any damage I've done with the treats today, will be undone by this.

Flying then - I'm off to change the sheets in a minute before I get too tired (I love getting into clean sheets), empty the DW and reload it, clean down the hob and worktops, and by the time I've done all of those things, it will be time to settle in bed with a nice hot wheatbag and Casualty.

Hugs to anyone who needs or wants them.

    snufflymouse xx

ETA - Just remebered your post grateful (told you my brain was absent lol) - thank you very much for sending me the book - I look forward to reading it.

    Hey All,

JulieJim sorry to hear about your DH. Hope he is able to find something new soon.

Well the counselling at work went quite well yesterday. I made it through in one piece so thats good. I then spent agggges with my cousin and goddaughters before picking up paint and decorating equip.

Then this morning heard I scored 0 points in my esa medical and they are stopping my money. What is the flaming point. I have paid tax all my life so far and this is what happens when I need some help.

    I give up

This is why my daughter with ME won't even apply for it! She knows of people who have been to the medicals and the Doctor assessing them has said that they should get it - AND THEN THEY DON'T!

The system stinks and is not fit for purpose!

    I would appeal.....

AND if you can face it I would make an appointment and go and see your MP! Tell him/her what has happened and get him to follow it up!

Consider getting your local paper involved........

I think I heard that the company that does ESA medicals will be taking over the rebranded DLA in a couple of years! So I've got 2 years to get DD1 to the point where she can get a job! Fantastic!

Seriously hun - you are not alone - but everyone has to tell their MPs about it or nothing will change...

Looks like I'll be seeing you on the new thread as I have woefully underestimated how long it will take me to get ready for tomorrow's record and book fair. Should have started last year - oh, hang on, I did!:D

Needed at least another day and I'm being picked up at 11.30am tomorrow. Ah well, time to commandeer the kitchen table to sort stuff into heaps to price, then box up. and then a nice bath to unknot my back.

You remember in Sex and the City when Carrie said she could have bought a flat with what she'd spent on shoes?? That's what I used to be like with records. And CD's. And books. And comics. And...:rotfl:

I wouldn't mind BUT I've done it before. At the time I was still married so had a bloke who managed to force the things down and I re-attached the cover.
I think I am destined to live with imperfection!

    Arn't we all :D
  • Linda32 - is that a ref to things that need a bloke or the blokes themselves?
