Aussielass I hope you have a terrific birthday and get thoroughly spoilt by the family
Damp and grey at the moment in the Garden of England (Kent) and eldest DD is due down for coffee at 11. Dinner at youngest DDs later on, I am going to sort through my store cupboards and see what I can find to take with me from the tin store .She has four interviews this week so hopefully something will come of at least one of them.
I made two vegetable lasagnes yesterday for eldest DD today so she can pick them up when she gets here.I try to do a couple of meals that she can just 'ping' in the microwave during the week for her and DGD as all of her family eat at different times owing to work commitments during the week. She said she had eaten a veggie one at shcool a few weeks ago and enjoyed it so I thought I'd give it a go.It looks O.K. so I will wait to see if it went down well. She is such a fussy eater and so is DGD. My youngest will eat what ever is put in front of her and so do the boys. But my eldest has been a food fusspot since birth.
No shopping for me this week as everything is bought so far.My oldest friend June is coming to stay on Tuesday for a couple of days as her husband is away on the other side of the world, and I have a two lamb shanks in the freezer which I think I will cook for dinner in the evening.
She is like me and will eat anything. We are both of the same generation (she is six weeks older than I am) and were brought up to eat what was put in front of us.
Right I'm off to forage for some breakfast
I hope everyone has a good Sunday, and those that need to, catch up on their chores.
Take care all

Morning all.
Had fabulous time in London last night! I'm also very interested in the history of London. Love reading books about it all.
My sister was looking after the children. An hour after the baby went to bed he woke up with a streaming cold. Typical. She gave him calpol & stuff.
He doesn't seem to bad today other than a streaming nose. He's remarkably strong for a 21 month old baby when I try & wipe his nose!
DW is on. DH in the bath & I shall go in the shower when he's finished.
Have done my menn plan for the next week. Don't need a lot of food.
DH is off again this evening till Friday at least. Him travelling is quite money saving tbh. I don't like him going away though.
Love (((hugs))) & spoons to those in need

Morning all,
Bit of a late morning here, I have been up during the night being sick several times, right up till 9 this morning, must have been something I ate, so I feel a bit wiped out this morning.
Thanks for all the good wishes re my dad, we are not allowed to see him till mon or Tues to let him settle in, will phone mum in a while to see if she is ok.
Dinner today is a small piece of pork, but I dont know if I can face it at the moment, will see how i feel later on.
One load of bedding in the wm and another to go in, dd is off with her dad today, so I might just have a lazy day at home, although might go out for a walk later on.
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Aussie, have a great day xx
Oh meant to say I bought the life story of Clarissa Dickson Right yesterday for £1, have just started it but it looks great.0 -
Morning All,
Lazy start today and probably a lazy day if I can manage it but normally something comes up:cool:
DH still working on the car as it still won't start after having a new starter motor so he has an idea to try something else (it's a mystery to me)
Poached egg on toast for brekkie and gammon and pineapple for lunch which will be a nice change.
I am cracking on with my baby blanket but have run out of dk wool and have some chunky, thinking if I change to a bigger hook and continue, I know that the pattern will be bigger but think it may look ok, has anyone tried this?
Looking forward to the tales from Birmingham in between crocheting and reading the papers. Telly looks good tonight, we are big fans of Being Human and my boys tell me a new Top Gear tonight.
Welcome Kit you have come to the right place, everyone is lovely on here

Morning All
A disturbed night for us too. DD and friend arrived home noisily (but trying to be quiet!) at 4.15 am. They were full of giggles when they got locked in the kitchen, the door sticks a bit and I could hear them trying to open the door. About an hour later DS3 came into ours, poor love had a temp, headache and earache. Calpol, drink and cold compress and snuggled up betweem mum and dad he drifted off to sleep. Woke up at 8am full of the joys of spring and looking forward to his football match. Me and DH are shattered.
Got up and got weighed.........drum roll.........I've lost 2lbs this week:j:j:j really,really pleased.
OS wise must go shopping, and have a tidy round today, will be easier when DD has retrieved her stuff, DH taking her back to Uni early evening. Loved having her but oh the mess.
Have a great day, whatever your plans.

Morning All!
Hugs to those who need them, it seems like quite a few.
Lazy day for me today! We've got a chicken for lunch today, will roast some poatoes for OH ( i shall have boiled) and some veggies and a little bit of stuffing. Still massively craving bananas so will have to go and buy some today, they are all i think about at the moment.
Got 1 more load to wash then all the washing will be done with the exception of bedding, but thats not a priority and could wait.
I'm going to try another work out today and see if i can last the whole 30 mins, they're tough these work out thoughs, so i will spilt them into 2 .
Have a lovely day all

Morning!!
Welcome kit77, happy birthday aussie, julie67 that's my breakfast of choice and what i'm eating right nowI too am looking forward to the tales from Birmingham!
Woke up nicely refreshed from an evening lying in bed wathcing black books and a long sleepHave finished off the bedroom cleaning from yesterday, kitchen is half done, will do the bathroom after I go into town before I have a nice big bath! No plans for dinner as a friend is cooking for me  I think I'm going to cook for the flatmates monday, they all have so much work atm that our house is toasty city, it's pretty much all two of them have ate in a week. I'm also feeling a bit lost right now as I wait for the new semester to start
There are lots of crafty (in the good way!) people on here so was hoping for some tips on where to start if I wanted to make a jewellery stand. I've seen some lovely expensive ones shaped like cake stands, with mirrors, tree branches etc, but where would I start? Should I just pick up a cheap cake/jewellery stand from a CS and go from there?
There isn't a cheap market/haberdashery here so I'd have to get most twinkly bits online, though I do have a huge stock of giant crystals from when I made miumiu inspired leggingsLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Morning one and all
All is bright and breezy here - I slept for about 8 hours last night, must be the first time for about two years and it makes SUCH a difference!:j
Bacon and mushroom rolls for breakfast - very yummy. Not enough washing for the WM - that must be a first and I guess is OS in itself. Car cleaning all finished - first time I've tried Stardrops on the interior and it's worked really well.
Just general chores to do this morning then going to a singing workshop this afternoon - usually great fun but exhausting. Salmon, pots sweetcorn and broccoli for dinner!
Hope the Bham gang are having fun/recovered from any excesses last night.
Have a good day
