Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday :j 23rd January. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone - up early again though I'd love to sleep later.
Haven't read the end of yesterday's thread so will catch up with the goings-on later.
Am out all day for work but am well prepared and it should be a breeze. Have had my LC breakfast already and just catching up with the online papers.
Plenty of OS as lunch is provided today and I've taken some chilli out of the freezer for evening meal.
Yesterday I just couldn't get warm, despite the temperature here being a balmy 7 degrees and having the central heating on. Eventually I had three jumpers and a blanket over me but my fingers were still cold. Today is better.
Hey ho... off for a shower. I look forward to reading about you all later. Hope your days are good.0 -
Morning BB & all who cross/follow
Great bargains BB.
I babysat last night for 2 of the foster children, Bodger is 7 months & is now sitting up, Shyboy is just 2 & it took the pair of them less than a minute to work out that I was Grandma material & would spend ages playing Round & round the garden & Ride a cockhorse, with one of them on each knee.
I did most of the housework yesterday, so today will be a lazy day doing lots of crochet & maybe a bit of reading if I can find anything with a large enough print.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all
Planning to do a bit of Ebay listing this morning, then off to see my Mam as its her birthday Tuesday but won't see her so will call round with cards and pressies.
Toad in the hole for dinner, we had it last week but sausages need using up so don't want to be buying other meat.
Need to parcel up Ebay things that have sold and thats about it for today, just get ready for the forthcoming week.
Hope everyone has a great day0 -
BB - your day and mine sound exceedingly similar. We too have Roast Brisket for lunch and we have my parents coming over - and my brother and his girlfriend. Boys are already up - but no birthday here. Have plenty of clearing up to do - achieved SO much yesterday as we started the day with all the furniture in one room piled high. As there was dust everywhere I cleaned first, then had to put the things back, cleaning them as I went. Thank goodness OH was around to help.
Today I have to sort out the left over carpet and then take the remainder to the skip!!!Hugs to everyone xxxx
Brisket in the oven, with parsnips, carrots, onions and stock and red wine. Will be eating about 2, so will be lovely. Will do with HM york puds, and the veg that I am about to get my A**E into gear for to bo and buy from the Sunday market.
Will go from Sunday market to the tip - 2 jobs done in one car outing (saving petrol!) Did anyone hear on the radio yesterday that petrol will be going up by over 4p a litre by April? OMG.
Sorting seeds with Mum today so we can share, and will split the huge bag of potatoes and onions that I've got - might also get a bag of carrots so I know that she's at least got the start of a meal! Worried about them both.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning all
Early start here - the house phone rang at half six and I was tempted to ignore it but then it rang again and when I get a call early or late I worry incase its a problem! So I got up and checked that DS1 and 2 were in bed (they were out when I went to bed) came fown the stairs and did the 1471 3.....for a guy to answer and tell me they had the wrong number  By then DD was awake too so here I am
I've took a small joint of pork out of the freezer for dinner and some cocktail sausages to stretch the meat I'll do it with potatoes and lots of veg.
I made 'Spanish Rice' last night - had a fancy for chorizo - and it was lovely! Me and DD had it for dinner (she really enjoyed it too) have frozen two portions and have more left for lunch today.
I bought a butternut squash yesterday for the first time ever so I;m going to look for something interesting to do with that!
Looking forward to more Brum-tales

Morning all,
I too have roast beef for dinner - silverside here:) I shall do it with hm yorkshire pud, roast potatoes, broccoli, carrots and green beans. DD, SIL & DGSs will join us. I love family Sundays.
DH started to think about summer holidays yesterday, so we all began thinking about blue skies, sunshine & WAAARRRMMMMTH!!! Roll on clement weather - I couldn't warm up either yesterday. I think the cold had got into my bones. Doesn't seem so bad today, but still damp.
Hugs to all who need them, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Long time lurker who has decided to come out of hiding and join. I am married with 2 kids and I work nightshift therefore I am always grumpy and my house is often a mess. So today I have decided enough is enough and it's time to overhaul everything in my life.
So I have had breakfast DS is just awake so will sort him (DD still in the land of nod). Washing machine is on already but I will have to TD the contents as it is my very good winter jacket that I will need later today as taking the kids to the park with my friend and it is very cold here.
Will pop the kids school clothes in the WM and hopefully hang them on the airer before I go out.
Dinner tonight will be gammon joint, totties and veg.
Have a good day all.Feb 2012 Grocery Challenge £200/£4.00
