Thinking of you Betty !
I'm trying to work out how much I will get each month when I go on mat leave. After the first 6 weeks, I go onto the SMP
Thats about £135 a week x 4 = £540 - Taxed 20% = £432
Do I have NI deducted from this as well? If so does anyone know what % that is?
Then add CB = £80
I estimate I will be getting about £510 each month
Does this sound right to you?
Depending on your combined incomes, you may also get income support, child and / or working tax credit and the £500 Sure Start maternity grant.
For most of us though, I think SMP will be a huge shock to the system0 -
I know its ridiculous
Massive amount less for us as i am the main earner, its gonna be a struggle.

No we are not entitled to anything, I don't think. Had a quick go on those confusing calculators and I'm told we can have CB of £80pm.
I don't think we qualify for the £500 grant because we work and don't receive benefits!!!!

When I was on SMP when I had my first I took home £500. Gross pay was £600 with deductions it was just over £500.
With the CB the registrar took my completed form off me when I got my LO's birth ceritifcate when she was registered at our county hall.
