Thank you so much :) i've been trying to take things easy (which is difficult if you're not used to it! lol)
I've had a few recently but nowhere near as much as thursday/friday which is quite reasurring. I'm just waiting for my midwife to call me back so we can arrange an appointment.

On a more positive (and MSE) note i've been to a boot sale yesterday, first in ages, and i picked up some great bits! A lovely Christmas musical fibre optic village scene, the music isn't working (which i'm quite chuffed about, i find it a bit irritating) but it's a very large one and i paid £2!! it's very similar to this - http://www.alton-gardencentre.co.uk/images/products/1251707048.jpg

also 2 brand new still in packaging memory foam pillows for £6. now, this has been trial and error for us. i absolutely adored my pillow and woke up this morning for the first time with no neck pain, whilst my husband discarded his halfway through the night!

Has anyone done a birthing plan yet??

    Gops xx

err.. well.. sort of! i have an iphone app i use to track my progress and it had a birthing plan-style section where you only tick what you want with the suggestions already there. so roughly i have got one but i'll need more information about certain bits before i decide 100%. I did put in things like - i don't want any photos/video of the birth, only after, i'd like my partner to be with me all the time, i'd like to use the birthing pool as pain relief, etc
the plan looks a bit like this - http://images.thebump.com/tools/pdfs/birth_plan.pdf

Now comes my question.. I'm 16 weeks and i think i felt *something* !
it was the other night when i was sat very still, and at first i felt some bubbles, i thought it was gas :o but then it felt a bit like a twitch?! i know a lot of people say it's early but i'm quite in tune with my body and i've never felt anything like it before!

I'm 16+3 and I've been feeling 'twitches' for just over a week now. I'm pretty sure its baby moving. It feels like a cross between a muscle twitch and that flippy feeling you get in your tummy when you go over the brow of a hill too fast in the car. It's still very feint though and I only notice it if I'm sat/laid still and not doing mush.

Forgot to say, all the baby sites have been sending emails that have said from 15 weeks you might start to feel something so I guess it is possible!
  • Hope you have managed to get some rest and are feeling a bit better Alizee, make the most of the time off work!

Lisa, have a lovely time seeing your little baby today, 3 weeks and 3 days till we see ours again :)

I dont have a birthing plan, I also do not want any drugs if I can help it, not sure whether to go for the episiotomy but think I will probably tear so might be a good idea. One thing I know I definately want is to be told the sex by my OH, I have had the pleasure of carrying and taking care of the baby so I would like him to be the first of us to know the sex.

Does anyone know, if my OH gives up work after I come back from maternity leave, will we be entitled to any tax credits? I earn £29000 and he only earns £13500 and we have no one that could look after the baby during the day for us. As I am the main earner I will definately have to go back to work full time and I doubt they would let me work from home. The problem is, although my salary is ok because of the mortgage etc I have budgeted our total outgoings to be £2050 (this is VERY tight) and my take home is £1793. I know we will get £22 something a week child benefit but this still wouldnt be enough and I am now totally panicing

Errmmmmm....NO!!!! I'm trying not to think about that bit!!! Saying that though, I know that mine will basically be that I want it as natural as possible unless I'm struggling. i don't want natural for any other reason than I don't like the sound of any of the pain relief drugs! I just know gas and air will make me feel sick, pethidine makes the baby groggy and I would never have an epidural just for pain relief, if I need one foe a caesarean then I'm happy to have one but I don't think I would otherwise. i'm pretty open minded about it though as I know this may all go out the window when the time actually comes and I'm in pain lol!

It's my 16 week scan and midwife appointment today, excited but nervous!

When I had my first baby I always had in my mind that I WOULD NEVER EVER have an epidural - waters went on Monday, didn't have baby til Friday at 7:40am. Had an epidural that morning at 4am. I had pethadine and also plenty of gas and air. Never say never lol.

I am now almost 21 weeks and have been feeling flutters/movement for weeks, prob from about 16 weeks. So it is prob baby :)
  • Whoever mentioned the baby boys names, I will join your club as we too are struggling so much. We can not agree on any name that we both like. OH just says nah, that reminds me of so and so that we know. I like Harry - his reply - are you pregnant to a wizard? (Harry Potter). I like Zak - his reply, is it a Dingle. I like Theo - Nah, will just remind me of him from dragon's den.......aaarrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

We have come to a decision on a girls name though, fingers crossed it is a girl :)
  • I have also been feeling flutters for a good week now.
Only 2 weeks til my scan and I am super excited.
With my son I was in labour for about 40 hours and I managed with just gas and air but it wasn't easy. Gonna keep an open mind this time and go with the flow as I don't feel as brave 10 years later. Infact, I think it's possible I've turned into a right wimp!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day

Lol!! That was exactly what I was like with my OH, we couldn't pick any boys names, luckily at my scan they said it was a girl!! :D which is what I wanted in the first place!!

He was doing my head in almost all the names were footballers. I just hope they've got it right!
