Hello everyone.. eventful couple of days for me - i suffer from psvt (heart palpitations) and when they're frequent i get 1-2 a day every other day. I can usually manage that because i'm used to them.
Friday i started having them in the morning and when i got to work i had them every 2 minutes (!!!) complete with nearly losing consciousness, blurred vision & the lot for the whole day!! i managed to finish work but the next day was the same so i spoke to my midwife - she said something along the lines of "a&e NOW" so i went down there, i was strapped up to monitors and my heart rate was just erratic, up and down, from 80 bpm to 200 bpm in the space of 10 seconds, it was quite scary, i was setting off all the alarms! they let me go home finally but i've been signed off work for 2 weeks.
So..yes! i have my midwife appt. soon and hopefully i will get to hear the heartbeat considering i'm useless at using a doppler and i'm a bit worried about how these past 2 days have affected the little one as they have affected me a lot, having such a stupidly high heart rate is very exhausting :(

Happy to give any advice I can and if I can't help there is a really helpful mum on the MSE facebook group who is a trained sling consultant and owns a sling shop in the North West who is always happy to answer questions.

Scary stuff Alizee, I would have thought they would have checked the heartbeat while you are in AE but maybe it wasn't anything to worry about. Hopefully everything is ok. Relaxing vibes coming your way!

Wow that was a lot of catching up to do, cots, bras, slings and pushchairs!
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the mild weekend.
Haven't been on for a while as still shattered in the evenings but no more sickness which I am happy about.
I was 16 weeks on Friday looking forward to the 20 week scan

I was 16 weeks on Friday too glimmer so I guess we must have the same due date.

Alizee, sorry to hear you've been having such a traumatic time, hopefully things will settle down a bit for you! My friend really suffered with palpitations during her first pregnancy and had to carry a monitor around with her that recorded what was going on so when she went to the docs/hospital they could check them out!!

Errmmmmm....NO!!!! I'm trying not to think about that bit!!! Saying that though, I know that mine will basically be that I want it as natural as possible unless I'm struggling. i don't want natural for any other reason than I don't like the sound of any of the pain relief drugs! I just know gas and air will make me feel sick, pethidine makes the baby groggy and I would never have an epidural just for pain relief, if I need one foe a caesarean then I'm happy to have one but I don't think I would otherwise. i'm pretty open minded about it though as I know this may all go out the window when the time actually comes and I'm in pain lol!

It's my 16 week scan and midwife appointment today, excited but nervous!

I'll be honest, I'm not really sure what i want (apart from an easy birth). Will have to do some research me thinks.

Good luck with the scan Lisa26, let us know how you get on xx
