Fed up with TalkTalk so lets do the WalkWalk

I have already posted my less than flattering thoughts on this company so I won't go through it all again. Just started this thread to see how many people on here are prepared, like me, to vote with their feet and do the "WalkWalk".

TalkTalk need to be sent a message that we have had enough of their C***

  • Left them in Nov 2010 worst isp ever like any other company you do not know how bad they are until something goes wrong or you have to speak to their customer services. They owe me money when they over charged me but keep on stalling its almost 3 months now and still no closer to getting my money back. I endorse the leave them now, anyone thinking of joining them please reconsider they may have cheapish prices but they are the bottom of the pile.

I just entered post below on another thread - apologies for the cut & paste but it's more appropriate here:

After a rather vitriolic email from me on Wednesday afternoon (following one of the most frustrating phone calls of my life & I'm getting on a bit!!)telling Talk Talk what I thought of them & demanding a MAC code by return I had a reply the following morning, with the code (the first efficient thing they've ever done).

So straight on the phone to BT to switch and no doubt I now have to fight an ongoing battle with TT when I cancel my DD & refuse to make any further payment; I'm in the middle of an 18-month contract, they've arbitrarily increased DD payment from £15 to £20 a month & tell me there's nothing they can do unless I upgrade to have all my calls with them as well. NO THANK YOU!! But I "mustn't feel targetted" as this has happened to all ex-Tiscali customers.

I've already told them (same email on Wed - I was steaming!) that as far as I'm concerned they're in breach of contract so they can forget pursuing any cancellation charge.

fyi - the Daily Mail are after them as worst ISP, they have an 0800 number (0800 542 8080) or email dailymailreaders@talktalkplc.co.uk BUT I rang the 0800 number & it's the same useless customer we-don't-care team (see above). At least it was free!

So the short answer Sandringham is YES, I've already voted with my feet, 48 hours ago!

I was with pipex originally, then UkGateway, then Tiscali and finally TalkTalk.
They were always the cheapest option, service was reliable but on the odd occasions (maybe thrice, in over ten years of service) when things went wrong it was a absolute nightmare trying to persuade some Indian guy who barely spoke English to sort it out. And that's with the advantage of 25 years experience in data networks, so I had a pretty good idea of what was wrong and needed doing.

Left last year when they "enhanced" my service by increasing the price by 50% and putting a cap on my usage.
Also have to say the leaving process was effortless and faultless. They gave me a MAC with only a token attempt to dissuade me, disconnected the service on the correct day and sent me an accurate pro-rata bill for the final part-month of service.

I'm with Plusnet now who are much cheaper (with a 10Gb cap) or slightly more expensive (with a 60Gb cap). Their customer service lines and website have been a joy to use! Mind you: nothing's gone wrong yet, suppose that will be the true test.

Id leave tomorrow if I could! Been with them 2 months and still waiting for a router that works! Ive had promise after promise after promise. Worse company I have ever dealt with!
  • Can I just say thanks for the above posts - I'm thinking of leaving Virgin for Talktalk as they're cheaper but now having 2nd thoughts!

I left in September, unfortunately Talk Talk insisted that they provided my Broadband until October and charged me £25! I sent a few emails but then gave up as I estimated I would spend more than that in time and phone calls trying to get my money back. Now with sky and no complaints
