I dont want to make any enemys here, but my best friend works at boots and gets treat horribly. You must understand its hard as uni / 6th form / college student to get a decent wage. Big companies (E.g boots )often dont care about staff as individuals, and just think of them as numbers. We're all prone to an off day. Next time your out shopping just think about the staff too - would you be able to treat them the way you have in store if you met them on the street? I think not. Especially students away from home i know, often are missing family and have lots of work and no money - stress!
I work in a shop and to be honest, i dont care how well it does, as long as i have a job. SA don't own the company, they dont care if you buy the £3.99 bottle of shampoo over the £8 bottle, they just want to get on with their day!
Anybody who works with the public hates the public, its just unfortunate that most people treat you badly, so you assume the next customer will - although i try to maintain a smile not least because i enjoy my job, moody, demanding customers can make your blood boil.
p.s. its very rare these days SA get commisions for their individual accounts opened, i know i dont at the store i work in!0 -

i agree that there are always 2 sides to a story and customers can be very demanding sometimes aswell and yes everybody is entitled to have a bad day and gaining points and freebies is not the main thing in life - maybe its just our particular store i wouldn't say its the Sa who are young its some of the more experienced older staff aswell.Love can tame the wildest0 -
I don't know whether I can call these as freebies. But for me, these are freebies. Sorry if I annoy anybody.
If you have an advantage card, please pick up Health&Beauty magazine (Jan/Feb 07) (it's free for an advantage car holder). Then, tear the coupon/voucher on the last page -- 100 points for buying any Botanics range.
I went to Boots and got a Botanics Skin Reviving Body Bar (99 p). Handed the voucher when you pay it. So you spend 99 p and will receive 100 points with equal to £1 spending. So this bar is free for me and I still got another 3 points of buying this bar.
Moreover, this is an ads shown in the shelf that free Botanics moisturieser with any Botanics range. So I picked up Botanics Moisturising Eye Cream (25ml) (£6.99) when I paid for the bar. And it was free. :rotfl:
Then, I made another transaction, got another body bar (99p) and Botanics Day Shift Moisture Cream (50ml) (£4.99). I paid this bar by my points (I have just added 100 points to my card from my previous transaction). No need to spend any penny for these two lovely items.
Sorry if my words might not be clear, I am so glad now for this good bargain. I spent only 99p in the Boots shop today and came back to my office with 2 Botanics bar (£1.98), an eye cream (£6.99), and a day cream (£4.99). I totally saved around £13.:j
The SA there was so kind, she also offered me to get another Health&Beauty magazine for coming to get this bargain again. And I picked one up.:T0 -
I've just been lied to by the Boots server and I'm going in after work to speak to her manager.
I got the Botanics freebie and picked up another Boots Magazine (my second this month).
She looked at the 100pts Botanics voucher I handed her and asked me if it was out of the magazine. I said it was and she said "Well you shouldn't be getting another magazine as its one per customer". I said it didn't say that on the cover. So she then told me I had been charged £1 for it. I said I wouldn't bother. However, my receipt shows that it went thru as no charge so she was obviously just lying as she didn't want me to get another magazine.
I will be taking this further!0
