  • I was told that they could reduce my line rental and calls which to be fair they have, but I was told they could make sure that I wouldn't get any cancellation charges off BT, but not guarantee it. On getting my cancellation charges and faxing it off to them. I find a letter delivered requesting payment and not only had they not cancelled it they hadn't rang me.
I rang them to enquire why this was and there attitude was well you're with us for five years now so if you want to move it'll be £400+.

    Disgusting customer service....

I'll transfer to BT as soon as I can.....

Mandy sad that this has happened to you too, Im still fighting it with them not the charges with BT but about all the charges that they have changed from what they said they were going to charge. I see an earlier post of mine which said about the owner only being 21 years old has gone and i see he has just started a new telecom company incorperated on the 7th of July this year. • My wife was cold called by these guys the other Day and pressure sold into joining. Fortunately Alarm bells went off in my head straight away & i checked here & my mind was made up.

Thanks for all the honest posts on the site shame some are being moderated as this is a company that doesn't play fair or seem to have morales. After reading the site i got my wife to phone up and cancel & true to form she was put through to a noisy call centre & then they turned nasty & spoke to her in a stroppy moody & unacceptable way. Fortunately she was expecting it.

I wouldn't advise anyone to deal with this company.
  • warning;
do not have anything to do with select calls. Sign up to them and you are locked into a 5 year agreement which cost you more after the first year with them. There are too many bits in small print.

Bt is cheaper with "the more you have, the cheaper it becomes".
Select calls will not talk or discuss problems. Phone calls not replied to; no answers to letters
  • I know someone who worked for Select Calls and, if they are behind with their team sales targets, they are all told to work standing up and make a lot of background noise to make it sound as if they are a large and busy sales centre. Sounded like a strange tactic to me. Like Mrs Pistonbroke, I'd be put off by that.
  • Some people here have expressed scepticism about yooyar's post warning us about libel. Me too!

I have a copy of a letter which Select Calls sent to an ex-member of staff warning them about making negative statements on a social networking site. I've heard about other people who've worked there getting similar letters. The one I have is highly intimidating in tone and threatens legal action for making negative comments about the company - as well as using it as justification for withholding outstanding wages.

Some of the phrases are word for word the same as yooyar's post.

'A legal claim based on defamation entitles the victim to recover against the defamer for his or her damages. In addition, the victim will be entitled to sue for punitive, or punishment, damages.

You do not have to prove damages in defamation cases. Damages are presumed. '

    Coincidence?

I wouldn't buy any product from a company which treats it's staff the way Select Call does
  • They phoned me today and told me how much I was paying BT for my land line and could provide it at 50% discount.

They could provide cheap phone calls etc.

I asked them to confim their offer by email but I was told they were unable to do that and could only refer to their web site.

The price I pay BT was not as they stated and I don't like their forceful attitude they obviously have a good script

    No thanks
