Just wondering if anybody has actually received a reply from an employer?

Sorry, but it DOES make sense. Anybody who is suffering the current misery of fruitless job hunting would immediately see that!
I was being sarcastic, and having a go at all these employers who are persistently snubbing job applications from people. I am FED UP with sending my CV out every day and getting no word back at all. It is quite despicable.

If you applied via email chase them up with a polite email stating you are still interested in the position & would like to know if you are still being considered. Not Again0 -

Funnily enough, now you have explained yourself and your point properly I do understand now.
Anyway, if you write your job applications as badly as you did your first post then it's no wonder you aren't receiving replys. There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.0 -

Yes, I've heard back. But I know what you mean - sometimes the silence is deafening and that doesn’t exactly boost your confidence. Hang in there.0

Often companies do not reply to unsolicited mail, I know I don't.
And as for job applications it is often too time consuming to reply to every unsuccessful applicant.
Some might reply some not, such is the way of things.0 -
Sorry to hear about your problems Truegho. If it's any consolation you're certainly not alone. I, myself have applied for countless jobs and to put so much effort in and to not get any sort of response is terrible. I personally think employers should batch mail the unlucky applicants as a matter of common courtesy.0

I think if you apply via the internet, they should take and make time to let you know either way if you are successful or not.
That wouldn't take that much of their time and no need for a stamp.
I've applied for about 8 since friday and not heard from any of those.
I did have an interview today for a telesales job, but it's usually jobs like that which have a high turnover in staff which are keen to let you know.0
