Northern Rock Fixed Rate Bond

On Wednesday, I tried transferring some additional money from a NR E-Saver into an existing (opened a few days earlier) 5 yr bond account, but it wouldn't allow me t complete the transfer: received a message to the effect that the account was closed to further deposits.
Has anyone managed to make additional deposits, online from an internal NR transfer, or from another account somehow, on Wednesday or later?
Thanks.0 -

It's a wonder they didn't offer us a hundred quid to open the account as well! Lol
They would have to sacrifice good decent customer service for that ... Just look at Santander!
Also just wanted to add my own positive feedback when dealing with NR. Like many others I'd opened the bond via telephone last Friday and the customer service person was extremely helpful. It was a complete contrast to my calls to Santander in my attempt to move internal funds from my esaver to my current account. I stress this is an internal transfer which apparently has no maximum daily limit but in fact ... does. In the end their advice was to visit my local branch with two forms of ID. Now I've been to my local branch and vowed never to visit that hellhole again so made the sensible decision to simply transfer the remainder over the next day. Cut a long boring story short ... Santander now is less GBP50K and NR has gained GBP50K.0 -

I tried an internal NR transfer from an esaver on Wednsday and it was blocked. On Thursday I tried again and miraculously the portal had reopened and was accepting transfers. Haven't tried today I'm afraid.0 -
I had been planning to attempt it today, but unfortunately the funds I BACSed to my esaver a few days ago are not yet showing up as cleared. (Weirdly they're not showing up as uncleared either, though they are shown when I click On 'my account'. Funds sent to NR seem to spend a day in limbo for some strange reason).
According to the chap I spoke to at Northern Rock the balance on the actual account statement screen is last nights balance whereas the figure showing in My Accounts is the current balance i.e. what's available now.
Confusing or what ?0 -

It allowed me to do the transfer to the FRNB even when the funds in my esaver were uncleared; just showed a negative balance on the statement until the next day. It's confusing but becomes clear(er) after the overnight run.0 -

Yep I've done a transfer at 12:54 this afternoon, that it said was successful.
Found a glitch tho': It wouldn't allow me the option in the 'to NR tranny' to transfer from my es4 although that was the statemnt I was 'in'; so i used the only ac it offered, my es3. It then deducted the funds from my es4!0 -
I agree it's very confusing. Did your funds show as uncleared though? I can't figure out why mine are not showing as uncleared.0

One other diff was that my funds were FasterP'd in.
Try the tranny anyway; what can it do other than reject the transaction?0
