Bill would be great but thats probably gone by now
Perhaps under the circumstances Baldrick would be more apt
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It's not just about the money0 -
Well, what's in a name... after all, they're all the same....0

Who's the genuine rep then please? And why would somebody want to purport to represent mobiles.co.uk if they don't?! Thats confused me, I see no logical reason for wishing to post a reply as Mobiles James has, to re-assure their customers or would be customers on their behalfs. Why would somebody say what James did if he does not work for them?0

A clue to the strategy he uses is in his job title
Last logged in yesterday morning although you will note the last time they bothered to post was last August
That said it may be he has now changed his name to Jennie Kane as the last few posts carry that name whether thats a real person or a nom de plume to reduce the flak he gets who knows ?.
The situation regardless is that there are strict rules in place regarding posts supposed to be on behalf of a company which is why they have to register as a rep and their credentials checked.
Amongst other reasons is so that you do not exchange personal data with scammers etc
Why James would want to admit to working for them is anyones guess ...I certainly wouldn't as I would be too ashamedIt's not just about the money0 -
Correct me if I am wrong, but was there not a lady who briefly came on here as their rep post Ben? He has not been on here - officially at least - for some time.
What happened to her?0 -
Well I just lodged my second of 3 cash back claims today so I'll report back in 38 days ...0

Thanks Silk, I did read earlier posts from a Ben and wondered if it was something to do with him when you were talking about the letter B with mobilejunkie.
Yes, I take on board what you are saying, and the others posts too, and your last line sums up what I would ask myself too. It doesnt make sense to want to act on their behalf after all the flak theyre getting, unless they really DO represent them and are trying to promote themselves aswell as obviously re-assure customers. You and mobilejunkie certainly are clued up anyhow!0 -

We would like to reassure all of our customers that we are still very much in business and are working tirelessly to improve the level of customer service we provide.

It's all very well to say this but that has not been my experience to date. In September I submitted my first claim for cashback on a Sony Satio . With a contract of £35.00 per month for 2 years, I'm due 50% cashback for the first 18 months i.e. £17.50 per month. The first payment was for a 6 month period and I calculated I was due £90. I received a cheque for £59.50. I tried to contact mobiles.co.uk at their email contact details. My email bounced back from an unrecognised address. I tried phoning. The automated phone hung up on me!
So I contacted Carphonewarehouse. They too tried to phone mobiles.co.uk while I was waiting on the line. No joy there either. A person at Carphonewarehouse explained to me that they thought that the cashback was averaged out over the 5 payments of the 18 month contract and that this was the reason I received a lower amount. They also said that they would get someone to call me from mobiles.co.uk when their lines were up again. I'm still waiting!
My next cashback claim was due in December but I am unable to get throught that section on the website which gives the following message: An error occurred while processing your request.
Reference #97.15b8493e.1295711969.24d004d This was cut and pasted from the website just now as I'm still trying!
At the moment Mobiles James, your assurance seems worthless to me, as does the service I'm currently receiving. My experience has been that buying a phone through mobiles.co.uk has been a total letdown, I'm out of pocket and I couldn't recommend anyone else use your service.0
