If they quoting MHRA registration falsely, it may be worth contacting Actionfraud. Banks will often assist with card problem even when the amount is less than £100, particularly payments made by Visa Debit cards.
  • i tried also and have no luck.

Specsandglasses seem to be selling stuff on ebay, glass cases, chains etc. I have also sent a message via ebay but again nothing....

Im posting this on behalf of new user Cricketwidow999 who couldnt post:

Hi Everyone We too have been ripped off by these low lives and wastes of space

We have also done the following

1, Emailed them on info@specsandglasses.com Even asking if i can collect in person ...no reply !!!

2, Rang them many times on (0800 228 9711) left many messages, even asked for a call back so i could make a order over the phone (left diff name and Mob number) ....Oh yes No reply !!!

3, Emailed them via eBay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/specsandglasses ...your right no reply!!Something odd as they have 99.8% good feedback on ebay?? I am going to email ebay directly too, I know we havent purchased our goods directly from ebay but anythings worth a shot. I may even order an item from their ebay shop (obviously not pay) but it will give me the senders address and then send a letter recorded delivery!

4, Ive also emailed MHRA who they are members of (hahah ye right) info@mhra.gsi.gov.uk

5, We have located the following info from "whoiswho" website, it shows that the website is still active and gives his IP address plus name, address and phone number. http://www.who.is/whois/specsandglasses.com

6, I have emailed the email address above [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] NO REPLY !!

7, I have rang the mobile number above [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] NO answer & NO answer phone !!!

8, I have contacted my bank (Santander) They have said they will open an investigation to the £100 fraud but only 30 days after my 1st attempt to contact specsandglasses

9, I have also been advised to conatct CRIMESTOPPERS the form takes 30 mins to fill in so i will be doing this later this evening https://reportfraud.actionfraud.org.uk/FraudReport/account.mvc/Intro

10, I have also emailed "my voucher codes" website updating them on all our fraud cases and asked them to remove their 10% discount code for specsandglasses from their website http://www.my!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/contact

11, I even logged a really bad testimonial on their website but hahaah its not been listed or shown !! http://www.specsandglasses.com/testimonials?page=2

We have also found out that the address registered on the website [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] I can predict that either the property has been bought and is empty, only being used as a postal address or its been rented out to a fraudulant tenant !
If i lived more locally i would go there myself but i live a 4 hours round trip away! But doubt anyone would answer the door, after all they cant even reply to emails or answer the phone !!

I was considering getting in touch with the local police station in Fishburn but my bank said that they would open the investigation after 30 days so best to leave it to them.

Im not sure if this would help but the more people that email MHRA, EBay, crimestoppers, and Voucher codes websites (as i have found plenty of other offers avalible on other links) the more chance we have to either getting our money back or preventing anyone else failing for their scam !!! If you feel the need to do this then i have included the links in the above info

Good Luck everyone lets keep each other updated on our progress from the robbing b******* !!!!!
Im knitty, Im nutty, but I dont know anyone called Nora. :p
  • Also just to update you, I have tried the ebay contact and had no reply, and have reported the company as fraudulent via ebay but being a very experienced ebayer I dont hold out much hope of them jumping to action. I will try the credit card company today.

Can I suggest we all contact vouchercodes and the crimestoppers link cricketwidow999 provided above. I think the more of us that complain, the more chance there is of some action. What about watchdog and those other types of programmes too...!
Im knitty, Im nutty, but I dont know anyone called Nora. :p
  • THANKS SUPERMUM for posting my reply !!! The site wouldnt let me post it as im a new user and the link could have all been spam!! We have also though of watchdog and Dont Get Done Get Don kind of programmes anything is worth a shot to either get everyones money back or just to prevent someone else being "conned" to! xx
  • Ive just submitted my action fraud report - would encourage others to do the same - it was very simple and easy although you do need your transaction details etc. Give as much info as possible and keep us all posted!

  • Hi I also filled in the online fraud form last night,
  • Oh and forgot to add I took the Hubby to Boots today and he's got 2 very very nice pairs of glassed including Verifocal Lenses (He is only 37 lol)
Delivery in a week for a amazing price of ..........£139 :T, (which did include a discount) !!!!!

So buying on line wasnt that much cheaper (£44) But i suppose if we DONT get the £96 back from these thieves then the glasses have infact cost us £235 :( Although that's still £165 less than the pair hes had for the past few years that are now broken :o
  • Yeah, looks like it's back to Boots i go also!!

I have logged all me details with all the helful links people have given so thank you everyone.

Just feel bad for the others who maybe havent realised they have been ripped off good n proper!!

keep in touch with any news folks
