Shy wants to be debt free! 2011 my year

Hi all
So ive been reading the diaries here and find them really very inspirarional. Had my LBM in
november last year and since then ive cleared £536 of debt as well as pay for xmas normally and not on credit. Feels great! :D

So my debt as of today is £5116. Wow how did that happen. The reality is i dont have much toA show for it. Holidays and pretty things i probibly bought a few years ago. I currently owe

Natwest loan £2025
Barclaycard £2192
Orange card £350
Bank of mum £328
Comet £221:eek:
Im not currently paying any interest on any of it apart from the loan. All credit cards are on 0% and comet is bnpl until may.

I feel that i now need t really tackle these debts and get rid of them. Im in a good position that i earn approx £1500 per month and i rent a 2 bed house on my own everything gets paid and i own my car outright.
I have setnmyself a target to have the orange card paid off by feb as this is when the 0% finishes. Im also due a bonus soon which will go to the debt but i dont want to count on it incase it doesnt materialise. At the moment any
Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully this diary will keep me on track.

Shy xx

Thank You for your kind words Diz. Its lovely to have someone write back. I hope you are getting on well with your debt busting.

So after a look at my spreadsheet i am actually £52 better off than i thought i was. Yehaaa. So my debt is actually £5064.

Things feel really tight this month and i cant wait untill pay day next week to get my figures down even more i think Jan is one of those nasty evil months roll on Feb. I havn't done an SOA on here as yet..because i have looked at my outgoings and i think i have already cut back as much as possible. Im cancelling my gym membership and that ends in March as had to give notice. That was really the only Luxary. I spend an astronomical amount of money on diesel but this is needed to get to work i can claim back some on expenses so this helps and im keeping track of how much extra i get in expenses this year.

Ive sold some bits on ebay and have made £5.86 but hey every penny counts and that will be on its way to my account very soon. I also joined onepoll yesterday and got up to £3.10 i reckon its going to take me a while to get to £40 mind.

Im quite good with my food shopping as its genereally just me i only spend about £60 a month on food shopping. I spend most weekends at my boyfriends so feel like im not at home very often.

Keep trying to rack my brains on how to make some more pennies. My tax and MOT are due next week but the tax is £30 for a year so im not to fased by this.

Right best stop being naughty and get some work done.

Today has been such a long day! Posted some ebay items off today so happy thats done. Waiting on one more person to pay. Ive been having a look on the up your income board and theres loads of ideas most of which i am using ebay surveys etc. Its so difficult working full time and commuting then finding the time t do the extra things. Im so glad my outlook has changed about money! Its
Ironic as i work in the finance industary and always have i feel im lucky to have realised the error of my ways now instead of 10 years time. At 22 im young
And lucky with what i have. Did my shopping list today ready for when i go to mr m's on tuesday. Have been reading more
Diaires and they really do spur me on to bust the debt.

Yehaaa its friday. My fave working day of the week. I am working tommorow but only the morning so its really not to bad. The other item i was waiting to be paid for on ebay has been so i have £8 winging its way to my bank account. I do get a buzz out of selling bits that i havnt used in ages. Im expecting some expenses on monday so they should set me straight ready for pay day on Tuesday. Its so cold today i didnt want to get out of bed. Hitting the gym tonight to make the most of the membership before it cancels. Hope everyone is having a really good debt busting day

So last couple of hours at work then the weekend is mine. Im hoping to have a NSD today and tommorow. Ive already filled my car up so i dont need anything else now. I really cant wait until pay day to change my sig and see the figure coming down. It sometimes feels like its going to take forever but i keep thinking about all the nice things i could buy with the £395ish i spend on debt repayments each month. Wow thats such a huge figure and is 26% of my take home pay. I could be saving this for my future. Any advice and support is welcome :-)

Well done for what you have done so far. I know what you mean about having to wait till the end of the month to see the total reduce and then the interest goes on. I have only just started this journey and I am sure I am going to get lots of inspiration of you guys. Just keep focussed on that light at the end of the tunnel. :)

Mondays are so depressing! Payday tommorow so very excited. Ive already cheekily changed my sig to show my reduced figures. Also made some pennies on ebay and some extra cash so have updated sig to reflect this. So happy that the debt is now below 5k. Today will be another NSD for me today. Ive got my lunch with me and im having a working lunch anyway so no need to go out and spend any money. Got a night out at the weekend which will be quite expensive but the money ive made from ebay will help me along with that. Also going to set myself a challange of making my brocery budget just £40 for the month. Its usually £60 but i could use that £20 elsewhere so will see how i get on with that tommorow night when i go shopping. I will be glad to see the back of January.

Hi Shy, well you seem to be on track so far - well done. My pay day is only Friday and still waiting for interest on one of my cards to be added.

At least like you say the ebay stuff will help with the night out and make it a little less expensive. Hope you have a good week. :)
