So glad I came across this thread as I have been considering getting a kindle for my birthday but wasn't sure if I would use it.0

The Argos E-Bay outlet also has the Cool-er but is £63.99 + £3.99 P&P for a pink one; silver ones go up in price; might be worth keeping an eye to see if they drop in price.

Could one of you Kindle experts help me please?
I decided to buy the Kindle from Amazon and maybe stupidly accepted a one month free trial for Amazon Prime. This gave me free next day delivery and the free trial lasts 30 days. It says this can be cancelled at anytime during the trial and can be done on line. I just have a few questions please:
(a) Is it a con?
(b) How do I cancel it on line?
(c) If I do cancel will they try and reclaim the free delivery I was given (usually £8.99 for next day)?
It states the Prime deal is usually £49 per year and gives deals on postage etc and this fee will not be taken until after the 30 days free trial. I do not want anything else so just wish to cancel after having taken advantage on the free next day delivery. It just seems too simple to have accepted trail, saved £8.99 and now just cancel.
I would appreciate any views on this offer and especially if anyone could answer my questions. Thank you in advance0 -
If I remember rightly there should be a cancel button for Amazon Prime in the Your Account Section.
I tried Amazon Prime for a while, had no problem cancelling it, and they did not try to reclaim the free delivery. I left it as long as I dared to get the most use out of it, but if you want nothing else just cancel. I seem to recall it gives you the option to just not continue with it.
Just found the relevant part on Amazon, comes from

Can I cancel my membership to Amazon Prime?
You can cancel your membership in (Your Account) (link removed) at any time before you or your registered guests have made any eligible purchases and we will refund your full membership fee. To do this, visit the "Prime Settings" link of Your Account and click the "Cancel membership" button. It can take up to two days for completing this process. For any trial or other promotional memberships you may cancel such membership at any time by clicking Prime Settings in Your Account and selecting the "Do not upgrade" button. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
I did the free trial and it was fine. No trying to grab the postage fee back or taking money when they shouldn't. I wouldn't worry.Could one of you Kindle experts help me please?

Thank you you are very kind and this is most helpful.
Just a little worried by the sentence:" at any time before you or your registered guests have made any eligible purchase "
The reason being I have made an eligible purchase!! Sorry if being over paranoid!!0 -
I think the eligible purchases refers to if you actually join (not a trial) They do go on to say "For any trial or other promotional memberships ................
As I said, I took a trial and cancelled with no problem at all, don't panic, it will be OK!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Also had the prime trial and cancelled it with no problem during the trial period.0

You can convert ANY format to Kindle using a free AP. Calibre I think it's called ;-)
It is and Calibre is very easy to use converts pdf to mobi in a matter of moments,
Also used the audio book facility for the first time yesterday on my Kindle and although the sound isn't perfect ( slight background echo) it works ok overall.
Got this cover for it for under £20 from amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eco-Nique-Natural-6-inch-Amazon-Wireless/dp/B003ZUXVSK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1295558949&sr=8-1 it folds back on it spine like a book as well really pleased with the way it looks and feels when using the kindle. just need to suss out a decent led light for it now.0 -

Best booklight ever. Very flexy, puts the light exactly where you need it and stays clamped firmly.0
