Well, the cool-er works, not as fast to scroll through as kindle for the pc, but easy to use. Easy to read screen, the test will be the conservatory in the sun. But all in all, not bad considering the price.:j0

Having said this, £39 is a great price for a reader.
The major difference between the kindle and other devices is the display. The kindle is like nothing i've ever seen before and until you see one for yourself it's hard to describe but it is so much better for reading books0 -

I'm sorry but you have obviously never seen/felt a Kindle if that is the way you think. There is nothing more comfortable than reading a Kindle in bed. It is so light and easy to use. The screen is even better than paper as far as I am concerned, and I have used the Android Kindle app so I can compare0 -

Going a bit off thread here but one assumes that you give the kindle the fuzzy seal of approval, I have been umming and arring for a little while about getting one, trying to justify the spends but when you have two toddlers try holding and reading a proper book lol
any thoughts on the kindle greatfully received xx0 -

My hubby has a Kindle, he loves it. I borrowed it to read a book and quite liked it too. I'm not yet sold on it over traditional books as I like getting them from the library or cheap second-hand, but as far as e-readers go, it felt very comfortable to hold and the special e-ink Kindle uses really is great. If I were going to spend anything near the price of a Kindle for an e-reader, I'd go ahead and get the Kindle. Actually, I should add, if I were going to read ebooks at all, I'd get the Kindle as it really is easy to read the text, easy to bookmark pages, easy to search, etc.0 -
OP that is a good price, enjoy your e-reader.
I have to say that I
love my Kindle. Bought it as a Christmas present to myself in November last year and it is one of the best things I have ever bought and will never regret the cost. I got the 3G version and once I got used to it - and it is very easy to use - it has been well used, every day. Lots of books read, lots downloaded waiting to be read and lots of bargain ebooks - some free or minimal cost.
Just love it, it will be going on holiday with me at the end of the week, saves packing lots of heavy books :j
I am smitten, can you tell ?

Just wanted to point out that many libraries allow the free loan of ebooks but the Kindle does NOT support these (and is unlikely to any time soon). If you wanted to borrow ebooks for free the Sony Reader does support this (sure some other ereaders do too but not exactly sure which ones).Sealed Pot Challenge Number 1225

I'm a Kindle convert. I was adamant it couldn't replace a book, but hubby got me one for Christmas and I love it. The screen is amazing like the other poster said, you can't really describe it but it doesn't make my eyes hurt. The battery life is impressive and its a really comfortable size to hold and operate. A thumbs up from me!

I ummed and ahhhed for ages too but I eventually had to give in and asked for one for Christmas. I have mostly read free books on it so far but it is the best present I've ever received and is my second most prized possession after my camera! It is so easy to use and I just wish I had bought one a lot sooner!
Sorry to the OP for going off-thread0 -
I have been converted by the views on Kindle? Where is the best price to buy one please? Thank you0
