I have just got back from the Argos ex catalogue, clutching an e-reader a Cool-er for 39.99 instead of the Amazon price of £139.
It is considered up there with the Kindle etc. I am chuffed to bits!!:T

I think I may have been a bit hasty as internet says company was wound up in June 2010. So no upgrades etc. If a problem with in guarantee period Argos will deal with it. So we shall see. But for £40 if it works it will suit me. Got it from Corby.0

Catalogue number 586/9961
No web site to register it for guarantee, but I should think if faulty quickly credit card or Argos would cover it. Only time will tell. Amazon are still selling them at 139 and 119.0 -

Sorry but I think it does not make sense to buy a reader such as Kindle, when for a little bit more you can have Android tablet, which can be used as reader but you can also surf internet, read news, play games etc with it. I think people buy ereader such as Kindle because Kindle is more advertised and easier to understand than Android tablet.
Having said this, £39 is a great price for a reader.0 -
Well done on your fantastic find, think I may have to have a drive out to see if there is any in my local.:T
If anyone sees any at the Stanley store can you post it please as it will save me a 30mile round trip.0 -

Hint: Android Tablet - about 4-8 hours between charges, not comfortable to read for long periods of time due to the screen tech.
Proper Ebook reader - battery life up to a month or 3-4k pages (my Sony 505 easily lasts 2-3 weeks and several thousand pages between charges), and very easy on the eyes to read for prolonged periods.
So if you want to just pick up and read the Ebook reader is the better choice (I've yet to have mine run out of charge without at least a days warning that it was running low).0 -

Nope, people who don't understand kindle think it is the equivalent of reading on a backlit lcd screen which it is not, the e-ink on the kindle is superb. People who buy the kindle buy it because they want to have a reading experience close to reading real books without the storage issues.0
