All Orange iPhone users suffering long-term BT Openzone fault

I just found this thread after experiencing all these problems myself and I think this needs some action. Orange have known about this problem for months, failed to provide a solution, knowingly continued to sell a service which they cannot provide and systematically deceived every customer with the "It should work: why don't you try the app?" line when we ring 150.
Worst thing is, it's in their interests to sort it and shift some traffic off their creaking 3G network.
This scam needs to be reported to the national consumer groups and the media. It's false advertising, simple as. Anyone got any experience of doing this?0 -
Have the same problem, have the app but can't connect to any hotspots! V annoying, as the app try's to connect to hotspots and makes my 3G data drop out, only way to stop it is switch off wifi or "forget" by openzone!0

This seems to have got worse. Now the Orange wi-fi app gives an error every time I use it to log in, even after resetting my Orange BT Openzone password. If I try the manual login page, the login page just comes back with a new error message just above the submit button saying "There seems to be a problem with our WiFi service. Please try again shortly", but this message appears every day I try it.0

I never got it to work, ever - I quickly gave up as the hassle was making my blood pressure rise....0

Very often when I complain about this to Orange customer services, they claim falsely that access to BT Openzone is free and that therefore customers have no cause to complain if it doesn't work. Of course the truth is that access to BT Openzone is dependent upon payment of a monthly charge for the main telephone service. By making such a false claim, Orange is committing an offence under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 which specifically cover this in Schedule 1 paragraph 20.0

and let's see if we can make them notice!
new App does nothing to fix the issue which they claim is one-off, affects only a few people and is BTOpenzone's fault.
They are doing nothing to resolve this matter so we need to escalate this somehow.

Thanks to NFH for highlighting this issue. My wife is on an expensive iphone contract with this "service", but I had not realised it was impossible for her to take advantage. Lately, she has begun to use more data-intensive apps, so I was thinking I should get around to setting up the Openzone thing, only to find this to be an impossibility.
Orange really is an appalling company!0 -
