If it was kept in the Ritz, maybe. Boarding kennels on average charge up to about ten pounds a day.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -
This maybe true in regads to a boarding Kennel, I did not look into boarding kennels as they are mainly used for stray or missing animals, this particular case involves the Police Pound. Although the prices do vary in a Police Dog Pound, the charges range between £25-30.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

My grandson is not a liar.
Sure about that? Without wanting to sound harsh, theres a lot here that simply doesn't add up. Certainly you may well have presented what you've been told word for word, but have you considered that what you've been told may be a pack of lies or at the very least missing half the details that one would expect.
Read back through the thread, theres a great many sensible posts on here asking you to look at the situation again - look at the gaping holes in the whole story and ask yourself if people have been entirely truthful with you.
Just because people have queried the gaping plot holes in your story does not make them unhelpful. If you wanted people to just go "OH NO, EVIL POLICE, POOR DOGGY WOG" and then direct you to citizens advice, then you're probably catered for, but don't discount those who have actually asked for the correct information to be presented before offering advice.0 -
Why do you find me dubious? I merely asked for help. I'm 73 for gods sake and not in the habit of making up stories. I gave the facts as I and my daughter know them, and told my daughter I would ask on here as mostly people are helpful I have been at my sons in Sutton for a few days. I haven't found out any more. Will let you know when I do. My grandson is not a liar.
But you have said, "he is no angel." What has he done to earn that perception? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Calm down! This is why you are getting upset, you are misunderstanding other people's intentions!
It's not that you are dubious- it's the story.
There are many reasons your story may be dubious 99% of them do not involve any dishonesty on your part.
It could be that:- you have misunderstood what's happened
- your grandson has misunderstood what has happened
- your grandson has forgotten or left out some details.
- you have left out some details, honestly (but mistakenly) believing they are not important.
- the police have done something odd that really does not make sense when repeated to others.
and there may be many more reasons that your story does not add up that do not reflect badly on you.
Don't treat people questioning the story as if they are attacking you- they're not, and it is rude of you to claim otherwise! They are just asking questions.0 -
I
Although the OP says he's not a liar I think there may have been some 'embellishment' of the truth here.
Even if the OP isn't anywhere near her grandson, I'm sure he has a mobile and her son will either have one or a landline even if she hasn't.
Yes, or the Grandson may have not given the whole story, thinking the bits he missed out were not important. There are a lot of people who don't like going into detail and insult nice people with terms like "geek" or "pedant".0 -
And still I wonder how the grandson got on at the pound........0

Yes, it would be nice to know - hope the OP returns0

Regardless of breed, it's a distressed animal that's missing a master who is reported to have "loved that dog" though from December 25th 2010 to January 19th 2011 was utterly incapable of locating it, this according to an OP who currently seems so unable to communicate with the source of this sad tale that she herself cannot communicate anything further to the thread she initiated.0
